TWICE is facing criticism even before their comeback. The rookie girl group, who is currently gearing up for their 2nd album, has been targeted for their lack of singing abilities. Various netizens have been pointing out that compared to other rookie girl groups such as G-Friend, TWICE just "can't sing". 

Other Netizens wrote, "Twice really cannot sing. It is embarrassing to call them singers." Then they used examples of their "YaYaYa" performance on 'Music Bank', as well as their collaboration stage with G-Friend on 'Music Core' to justify their points. Netizens stated, "When I saw them, I thought a bunch of girls were at a karaoke", "So many terrible singers nowadays.. such a shame", "Yeah it's hard to consider them good singers", etc.
