INSOLENTLY, GO GO - EPISODE 7

Following the performance where Jae Young revealed that Teacher Yang was fired under false pretenses, Choi tries to transfer out the students who were responsible, Yeon Doo and Jae Young among them, but she's blocked when the rest of the team shows up and admits responsibility. Another investigation is opened on Teacher Yang's sexual harassment charges, and he is exonerated.

Mid-terms are coming up, and everyone's studying. Yeon Doo gets her phone confiscated for texting in class, and Soo Ah confronts the principal's lackey about her essay grade, two points lower than Kim Yeol's. While doing this, the lackey gets bowled over by students and takes off after them, the contents of his bag scattered. Soo Ah swipes his USB drive with the exam on it. Kim Yeol tries to get Yeon Doo's phone back, entering the office without anyone around, and gets spotted by a teacher. Soo Ah later ditches the USB drive in Kim Yeol's backpack. Since he was seen at the office, all evidence points to Kim Yeol swiping it.

Kim Yeol's suspended, unable to take the mid-terms. Soo Ah, without the competition, now ends up at the top of the class. Yeon Doo tries to prove Kim Yeol's innocence, and the proof comes in the form of a personal video sent to her phone...

Soo Ah is one unrepentant witch (substitute your own word here). She refuses to apologize to Teacher Yang, frames Kim Yeol, and just gets worse and worse every episode. Just when you think she can't top her latest stunt, she does. She's easy to hate, and yet there's always a look of concern that crosses her face when she realizes the consequences of her actions. It's almost like she wants to be good, but has been bad so long it's impossible for her to do so.

Real King and Baek Ho celebrating their success

The show's writers continue to tease us, hinting at a real romance between Kim Yeol and Yeon Doo. They're certainly good friends now, sticking up for each other, study buddies, helping each other stay out of trouble. I was particularly struck by their chemistry this episode. It was simply superb. They're so at ease with each other that you might think they're together in real life (calm down; the actors are the same age).

What I don't understand is the Principal. So Teacher Yang gets his job back, and she vows to make his last two months hell. She tries to kick Yeon Doo out of school for what? Showing that a mistake was made? Maybe it embarrassed her to know that she was fooled by another student's lie. The official from the Ministry of Education was amused by their antics, and so she was forced to everything by the book, which likely had steam coming out of her ears near the end of the episode.

Kim Yeolplaying pranks on Yeon Doo, who's fallen asleep while studying with him.

There's also one subplot that I haven't discussed yet (in the interests of space), but it came as kind of a shock. Yeon Doo's mom works alongside this other man her own age; he talks about his son and how his son wouldn't want him visiting. This episode reveals that this man's son is Kim Yeol. They don't play it up, so was there something I missed? Now he's asked her to marry him -- if she accepted that would turn up the ick factor in a Kim Yeol-Yeon Doo ship!

So, apparently this show is pretty popular, and I know you guys are watching. What do you think so far?
