I used to love chatting, but I decreased the time I spent chatting a little bit at a time. As I did that, studying became a way of life."

"I don't think there is a need to focus on being #1. I've never ranked 1st place before. I've always ranked in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place. I like that better than first place because there is room to move up. If there is first place in front of me, I know where to go. The same thing applies to studying. Even if you fall short of first place, there is no need to be discouraged."
