Earlier in the month, singer and producer Tony An alarmed fans by mentioning thoughts of retiring from the entertainment industry, due to the lackluster response to his collaboration with his idol group, SMASH.
Fortunately, fans will be happy to hear that he will not be retiring, but rather focusing his efforts in another direction. On April 9th, TN Entertainment revealed that Tony An concluded all of his musical activities with a final stage as Tony An & SMASH on the April 8th episode of 'Inkigayo'.
Tony An will be temporarily halting his career as a singer to switch gears as a producer for SMASH's upcoming single album.
Through Star News, officials commented, "Tony An will be setting aside his career as a solo singer for now in order to focus on getting SMASH's name out there. He won't be letting go of his singing career, however, and will be returning to the stage whenever the opportunity arises."
Tony An himself also added, "By working with them, I was able to see for myself the individual charms of the members of SMASH. Through their next single album, fans will be able to see a side of them they've never seen before."
