BoA shared heartfelt advice to the trainees on 'Produce 101' season 2.

On the May 5 broadcast, BoA took the time to share about her singing career to the trainees. She first talked about the time her voice cracked during a showcase in Japan. She explained, "I had stage fright ever since then. That 3 minutes kept on popping up in my mind. But then I wondered if I would be able to live if I'm not a singer. That's how much I loved this job."

BoA emphasized the importance of self-determination as she continued, "I also had many times when I wanted to give up. But when you let go of the line, no one is going to fetch it back for you. You are the only one who can encourage yourself."

She added, "In this field, the result is more important than the process. There are so many talented people who want to be a singer. If you really want to become a singer, you have to work extremely hard. Your skills will not betray you. People say popularity is like a bubble and I believe one's skills are the water than can grow the bubble."

Lastly, BoA encouraged the trainees by stating that she'll strongly support them til the end.

I've been watching BoA since 2003. It's really a shame that she isn't as active as she once was. Really looking forward to her next album whenever that may be.

... and some people wonder why I love this woman so much.

    alicehalf Friday, May 5, 2017

I want to see her comeback with a dance song like this

    qwerty_Kpop Friday, May 5, 2017

she's got some really good advice for these trainees... but along with hard work, luck and good looks matter alot as well... and no matter what she says popularity is definitely a bubble in kpop... as long as you're young, you'll do good... also k-pop products (oops groups) have a shelf life of ~10yrs... just look at boa herself, she's not even 30 but her days are already over...

    BigBlueagain qwerty_Kpop Friday, May 5, 2017

She's HARDLY over. She's at that point in her career where she can do what she wants and STILL sell out the venues. She knows Jumping will always be there, even if the nugu fans aren't.

    qwerty_Kpop BigBlueagain Saturday, May 6, 2017

really??? are you telling me she's still as popular as she was? I didn't hear about her new song charting though... ofcourse she still has loyal fans who'll come to see performances, but can she sell millions like she used to? I don't think so...

    BigBlueagain qwerty_Kpop Saturday, May 6, 2017

The singles from her last album hit in the top 20 and the album itself hit 5 in Korea and 6 on billboard's world chart. And yes, she sold millions.

    qwerty_Kpop BigBlueagain Saturday, May 6, 2017

My comment is backed by wiki, her last album sold ~15k copies vs 500k copies she used to sell. I don't know from where your million numbers are coming... #5 is not a great number for a top star like her and please don't give me that billboard shit, because that's not sales chart... Minzy also topped it... you seem like her fan, who didn't like when I said she's not as popular she was... but when I said that, I took a dig on k-audience who don't like watching the same face for years no matter how talented they are...

    BigBlueagain qwerty_Kpop Saturday, May 6, 2017

All you have to do is look at her page in the forums to know I'm her fan. I've noticed that. Here, fans are devoted enough that there are bands that are, literally, senior citizens now who are still performing the same stuff they became famous for and making a very good living at it. BoA just keeps evolving. As a performer, singer, dancer, composer, lyricist, producer, actor... she just keeps going. She has been so successful that she has no fear in trying something new simply because it interests her. And she does an amazing job at it all. Also, even if the public isn't as intelligent about it as they should be, the people in the industry are. ANY performance she's in, it's like a parting of the red sea when she shows up. EVERYONE backstage wants to be like BoA.

    qwerty_Kpop BigBlueagain Saturday, May 6, 2017

Lol... you don't need to explain all that, I'm sure she's very talented, all solo artists like BoA, IU had to be, that's why they could thrive in kpop industry that's known to favor groups... What I'm saying is k-audience (you can exclude hard core fans from here) lose interest way too soon which is unfortunate... sales should be driven by QUALITY but in kpop its driven by loyal stans... even if a group's release is average, their fans would bulk buy stuff , that's something I would never understand and then they would defend it saying oppa worked hard, oppa is funny, oppa is handsome...

well in the end, nothing beats looks and that's the only thing koreans look for in a person that wants to become a celebrity.

    atravista Friday, May 5, 2017

She got popular thanks to her talent , not selling sex like Hyuna. Just saying

ZYXMYG atravista Friday, May 5, 2017

hyuna doesn't give a shit what you think lmao, just saying

Her japanese performances are best. I really admire her mindset, she was so young and so determinated. (Performance at 02:21)

BigBlueagain ortobom Saturday, May 6, 2017

Yeah, really. So self deprecating about getting old. You have really low self esteem. You should work on that.
