Actress Nam Bo Ra expressed her affectionate feelings towards her siblings.
In a recent meeting with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Nam Bo Ra said, "I don't want to lose the title of 'K-Eldest Daughter' to anyone."
As the eldest among eight brothers and five sisters, Nam Bo Ra became a symbol representing the 'K-Eldest Daughter' by appearing on broadcasts with her family.
She shared, "Having many family members was tough when I was younger. But as time went by and the kids grew up, I realized there's nothing more reassuring than that. When I think about each one of them, my siblings are so precious. Everyone is doing their part, so I don't feel burdened; instead, it feels like they are a fence supporting me. As the eldest, I felt obligated to take good care of my siblings, but surprisingly, they remember every little thing. I was thankful they recognized my efforts and sincerity."
In particular, her seventh sibling, Nam Sebin, has caught attention by following in her footsteps as an actress. Nam Bo Ra said, "I give advice to my sibling, like 'It's good to do this at your age,' but for years, it hasn't been taken (laughs). At that moment, I realized my role isn't to advise, but just to be there beside them. Thinking 'Someday, if it gets tough, she'll come to me for advice,' I've left them to it. I've seen how hard my sibling works, so I believe she will do even better than me. Having experienced the profession of an actor first, I've found more good in it. I hope my sibling also accumulates many good memories like me," revealing her deep affection.
Nam Bo Ra, celebrating her 18th debut anniversary this year, reflected, "When I first started, it was all vague thoughts," and "Looking back, I regret not being a bit less anxious and more comfortable with myself. It's natural to make mistakes in work. I regret not comforting myself, thinking, 'It's okay to be like this.' No matter what projects I encounter in the future, I want to work hard so the time spent is not wasted," expressing her ambitious aspirations.
The KBS2 weekend drama 'Live Your Own Life' (written by Jo Jung-sun, directed by Kim Hyung-il), which ended on the 17th, is a family liberation drama that depicts the process of Hyosim, who has dedicated her life to her family with her inherently kind nature and warm empathy, seeking an independent life away from the family that made her suffer, and her family members finding their own autonomous lives relying on Hyosim's devotion and sacrifice. Nam Bora played the role of Jung Mirim, a lawyer turned aspiring entertainer.
