TWICE talked about their change in concept.
On April 22, the showcase for TWICE's new mini album 'Fancy You' took place at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul.
For the new release, TWICE left behind their signature cute look and went for something more fierce and even a bit sexy. Regarding the change, Jihyo said, "The reason why TWICE had a change is that we've shown a bright side a lot and the members grew concerned, thinking this might become tiring."
She continued, "And then we received the song 'Fancy.' We thought we will be able to present a new side of us with a change so we gave it a shot. There's a cute key dance move but we depicted a more mature side with all black outfits. We will also show a bright side with different outfits throughout the promotion."
Chaeyoung added, "I wanted to show the public that there's also this side to TWICE. 'Fancy,' our first album of 2019, will become a turning point."
