Shortly after the sudden and surprising news that rookie solo artist I, also known as Cha Yoon Ji, would be departing from KBS2's 'The Unit', rumors circulated online that the singer may have been forced to leave, through passive aggressive mistreatment.

As previously mentioned, I passed the first round auditions on 'The Unit' with 6 boots - a vote to pass from every judge. She is also well-known as the younger sister of popular idol B1A4's Baro; however, I was nowhere to be seen in the first few episodes of 'The Unit' dealing with first round auditions. Even when the show progressed into the second round and Cha Yoon Ji was chosen as the center of the green team, the amount of screen time she received seemed to be mere seconds, with the green team's performance falling at just around 30 seconds. 

As the show progressed, fans began referring to I as 'The Ghost' of 'The Unit', and some even demanded an explanation for I's lack of screen time through KBS2. Currently, 'The Unit' has uploaded all of the contestants' individual morning, afternoon, or evening 'Call' clips on their 'V Live' channel - all except Cha Yoon Ji's. 

Netizens who seemed convinced that 'The Unit' acted passive aggressively toward I on purpose commented, "What about her made you so repulsed that you completely cut her out... this show has no meaning", "I feel like she came out maybe 30 seconds the entire show so far", "Honestly, I thought that it was my mistake that I-nim was coming out on this show, since they never showed her", "I started watching this for Yoon Ji", "What reason do you people have to mistreat her", and more. 

Cha Yoon Ji's label WM Entertainment's announcement was that I decided to leave the show to regain her health. In response, KBS staff commented that "there will be no additional editing for this week's episode, even if she is leaving." The upcoming episode on November 25 will be fans' final chance to see Cha Yoon Ji on the show.
