Controversial 'School Rapper' contestant Jang Yong Joon has stepped down from the show.

Mnet said, "Currently, Jang Yong Joon is reflecting deeply upon his actions from when he was younger, and he asks for forgiveness from those he concerned with his actions. He told us that he would be stepping down from the show, and the staff accepted his stance. We will be supporting Jang Yong Joon's growth through music from afar. We apologize for worrying viewers without meaning to. We will do our best to create a program that can show the dream and talent of high school students. We are also attaching a letter that Jang Yong Joon wrote in apology."

The hand-written letter from Jang Yong Joon reads,

It's Jang Yong Joon from 'School Rapper'.
First, I bow my head in apology for everyone who was hurt and disappointed through my actions. I know I can't turn it back no matter what I say. However, I believe that I should say my stance and apologize, so I've decided to write this letter.
I want to apologize to my friends and parents that I hurt through my immature actions and words while I was in school. I was a sensitive teen going through puberty who was deciding between studying and music, and I also had a lot of friction with my parents. Those mental anxieties and dissatisfactions were expressed improperly to my friends and parents. I did not mean it back then either, but now that I look back on it, I am sincerely embarassed and apologetic. Also, I apologize sincerely about the words I said on Twitter through a moment of curiosity. But I did not meet anyone like that in any way.
Of course, I know that the act of making such a post and writing that mention is a large fault in itself. I was so embarassed and apologetic about my past immature actions that I couldn't even read the screenshots properly.
I do not think that my faults from the past could be forgiven through this letter. I am writing this to express my apology to the ones hurt by my fault.
I apologize once again.

I was hoping to see his rap more. But unfortunately, this is happened. It actually made me so sad because he was so good at his thing. It also dissapoints me of how people react to the news. I don't say that what he did is acceptable but then again we can't just judge people just because what we saw in the internet. We don't know him let alone his story. So just take care of yourself and stop worrying people you don't know. Just because you know his name it doesn't mean you know him. You guys need to stop, he's already apologize anyway. Shits happened to anyone and everybody makes mistakes.

tbvh i know what he did was very wrong and also very disappointing but he also said what he wrote on twitter and how he actually threaten to hit his mother was just out of anger. I think he deserve a second chance, boys24 hwayoung got scandal and still was given a second chance so i think he should be able to be known as a rapper and he's so good in rapping but because of this scandal it dragged him down

I feel bad for him. He deserves another chance. A lot of idols already did things worst than that and still active.

He will deserve another chance ONCE HE WORKS FOR IT This ain't his "past", this was months ago! He apologized, he can now work in his character and work to get another chance later when he becomes a person worthy of it

Immature kid with internet. That's all to me. He already apologized and it's enough. Too much drama for nothing.

Although you posted this a while ago I think you should know that he is actually 16 years old, his Korean age is 18 so he is still considered a child...

When I started on Facebook (the original social media, I think), I wrote and/or posted some stuff that I shouldn't have done. Now, watching my son going through the anger and posting angry posts that this young man is going through, I can see how he became that way. I hope he (Jang Yong Joon) can turn it around and make something of his life, whether it be a rapper or not.

well at least he came forwrd and apologised, now accept his apology, alot teens write stupid shit of social media, and he was just unfortunate that he went on a rap show, an got noticed an got alot fans, who stalked him an seen shit he wrote, and the other thing was , his father was a congressman, now that just put salt on the wounds, especially after his father stepped down from his job, because of his teenage hormones running wild on him on social media, but the end of the day is, he apologized, an we all know Swings is going to sign him
