ASTRO shared their honest thoughts on their concept and image.

In an interview with Xports News, Moonbin revealed, "Before our debut, I never expected us to debut like this. During our trainee days, we did a lot of covers of Big Bang and BTS. We barely practiced soft and cute concepts so when our label told us that we were going to debut with this type of song, we were really surprised. It had a completely different vibe. I remember struggling with making facial expressions."

Rocky added, "But I think we melted well in with the music because we're young. You can't just do this concept with loads of practice. It felt like this was really 'ours'. There were times when I looked forward to debuting with a fierce concept but I think we fit right in [with the cute concept] as far as time is concerned."

As for the style of music ASTRO want to try in the future, Jinjin answered, "A song where we're having fun by ourselves. A performance that doesn't have a set choreography but one where we freely communicate and relate to one another. I want to try a song like Big Bang's 'We Like to Party'."

I like them doing cute concepts for now because it made them stand out they have time to grow into a darker concept

it's good that they tried out this innocent concept while they can. now, if we could see a fiercer concept, that would definitely catch the public's eye.

#Rocky é um  *u*They're right, the cute concept fell like a glove for them, i do not see them being to fierce! hehehMaybe a fetive concept, but nothing too strong hehehKeep it up, because that's what made me fall in love with K-Pop, the cute way that we do no see with boys in the west.Unfortunately here, all men are bound to be strong and gross T.T

I like Astro, but their songs haven't made me want to go an buy an album. A sharper concept is always good in my books, but harder to pull off when you're young and naive. If they stick around I hope they darken their image a little.

Labels should allow their artists to choose the type of concept that they want. They have a better chance of succeeding if they do the music that they actually like.

I am not a huge fan of cute concept type songs or albums, so I don't how I would react if I had to switch from a style I want to do to something that doesn't appeal to me. I admire that they have to manage to go with it and make it work, but I probably would have given them a listen if they debuted with a different concept.
