Lizzy aired a grievance on the December 1 airing of 'Please Take Care of My Vanity.'

She thought back to when After School was promoting.  She revealed that after promoting their song "Bang!" in Japan for six months, she only received 360,000 KRW (~ 308 USD).

She said, "I told the members, 'Let's go work part-time at a convenience store instead,'" and laughed.  Jooyeon, a former member of After School, chimed in with, "We got less than minimum wage," but added, "The members liked eating, so [the company] spent a lot on our food expenses."

Pledis is so terrible at promoting.. well at least seventeen is getting the treatment their other artists have been needing for years.

Chrysantheneum cuteemcdeck Monday, December 5, 2016

Not exactly...... Pledis is stealing all their stuff given to them by fans and humiliate them publicly in front of fans.

Why are people saying Im gonna mis OG. Did I miss something?

clarissaxd Friday, December 2, 2016

im gonna miss orange caramel

People are quick jump on the pledis hate bandwaggon... but lets not forget that the company pays for air travel, clothes, accommodation, food every day since debut, and possibly even trainee days... they get paid little because the company is prob hundreds of thousands in debt for paying for all these things for all the members... once they earn enough from concerts, digital sales etc... they will pay them what they deserve, but i think AS never really had that big of a fan base to get there quickly, so there was a time they spent getting almost nothing.... BUT they were always fed, clothed, and had a shelter over their head.

After School, are they ever make top chart or concert? ---- i think, if the invesment not return yet, they will not make much money....

grifsnax Maximus_KPOP Thursday, December 1, 2016

I believe the problem is that AS was one of the OG groups that failed to stay relevant as the kpop industry started to boom.... they are being replaced by young blood, its sad but its true... people aren't as engaged in AS as they used to be... sales r low for AS and thats the hard truth.

Chrysantheneum grifsnax Friday, December 2, 2016

The reason why I hate Pledis, is because of no AS comback for more than 3 years and no Orange Caramel for 2,5 years.

uglypledistrash grifsnax Saturday, December 3, 2016

AS used to be a big thing back in the day, if im not wrong.

Read the article about Pledis stealing stuff from SEVENTEEN. They blatenly give gifts from fans to staff instead of the SEVENTEEN members, eat their food when it was gifted to SEVENTEEN, and you're saying I shouldn't be on the Pledis hate bandwagon? That company is toxic as hell

Chrysantheneum Maximus_KPOP Monday, December 5, 2016

AS was real big, Shampoo, First Love, Flashback did well, not to mention Orange Caramel, who went extremely viral with catallena. UEE is doing well with drama's, so is nana and her modeling.

Maximus_KPOP Chrysantheneum Tuesday, December 6, 2016

I think money comes from concert and CF deal, they dont have that much... Uee got the money to herself, and Nana doing well with drama,,,, but not as a whole group

Chrysantheneum Maximus_KPOP Tuesday, December 6, 2016

Some companies share profits in the whole group, others destribute it between themselves. I thought 2NE1 as a group made profit from Dara's solo "Kiss", SNSD make profits individually. And it's hard to sell if you don't make any. Their last song was from 2013. Ofcourse it's hard to stay relevant if you don't release anything for the past 3 years in Korea and 2 years in Japan. First love did quite well. No, they didn't win anything, but they were in the top 10 for over 2 weeks, which is at least quite decent. So to say they weren't be able to be relevant during promotions, isn't true. Their lack of comebacks the last 3-4 years however, is. Nana is/was hell popular with her modeling and CF, UEE keeps landing quite good roles, of wich Pledis will receive a share.

unglamourous life

shakennotstirred Thursday, December 1, 2016

Everyone who's ever been in the music industry know that music artists only make money from concerts. They don't get a lick of profits from album digital sales...

dason Thursday, December 1, 2016

Instead of saying Pledis is shit, where have been the fans of AS, their sales are low and thats only because fan adore the big 3 company and favors them, to all the people that says that Pledis is shit WHO has bought any of after school or son dambi or orange caramel Album here ? before saying they suck, it's the lack of love for after school that made them rut right now... I mean I used to blame pledis also but they are doing super good with Seventeen, but then have you guys supported After School during Bang , Shampoo or even first love era ? we are in a different era of Kpop where the big 3 are losing their relevance and smaller company are rising, maybe after school would have been at the top but that was all dued to the lack of interest from the korean public. for those who has been supporting them until now, Kudos and props :)

iisstf28 Thursday, December 1, 2016

Pledis is one of the shittiest companies, if not THE shittiest. All of their groups had so much potential and had gain popularity but they totally ruined it and now treat them like shit. Even Seventeen, their biggest moneymaker is treated badly... (but do remember that this is with travel expenses taken out, they did get to eat and a place to sleep for free)

BakaKaori Thursday, December 1, 2016

That is a ridiculously low amount. But I'm wondering what the average would be throughout the different agencies? We all know that idols don't really get paid the first few years they work, because they have to pay back all the training costs.

forgivemenot1 BakaKaori Thursday, December 1, 2016

When After School debut the average income would have been $20,000USD a year, today the average is almost double but remember not everyone is going to earn that much and After School were never a top tier group, also you really don't make money from music anyway it just the promotion for the real earnings from CF's and such.

nami_chan Thursday, December 1, 2016

wow they don't earn much, I feel bad for afterschool and sorry but pledis sucks
