There's been talk of Suzy making a solo debut once again!

Regarding the rumor, JYP Entertainment's rep stated on October 19, "Suzy promoting as a solo singer is just one of the plans brought up within JYP.  We are still in talks about it, but we have not decided on her debut time or anything else at all.  There's really nothing confirmed right now, like her promoting with a self-composition."

This isn't the first time the rumor of her solo debut abounded.  JYP had denied this earlier in the year, but when the talk resumed late last month, looks like the agency had to step up once again.  Would you like to see her go solo?

i wonder why they felt they needed to make a statement.. isn't it obvious Suzy will go solo eventually? they just don't know when....

ilikeJB intricate Thursday, October 20, 2016

That is exactly their statement though. Thing is people kept asking for the exact date, which is why they had to reply.

intricate ilikeJB Thursday, October 20, 2016

But that seems so silly.. so if you get enough people to call a company with a particular question you force them to make a statement on it? Maybe it just seems more than it is because of the way it's getting reported (like... the fact it gets reported at all amazes me tbh). If I was JYP this was the kind of question that I would've answered in 1 sentence on a FAQ section on the JYP website.

If it was fans that called they probably wouldn't reply. It's the journalist that asks a lot here and to remain good relationship between the company and news source companies, they reply out of respect.

why is this even news? people go solo all the time.

*cough MISS A cough*

OnceArmy Wednesday, October 19, 2016

I have been a suzy fan since dream high and since then she has been my bias in miss a. I really really like her personality.😍😍If she is going to debut as a solo singer it would be good to choose a song like dream. She has a soft voice and such a song would really suit her. I don't want to say this but I don't think miss a will make a comeback anytime in the future.

Nova_REMIX Wednesday, October 19, 2016

If she does this, then Suzy might as well just leave Miss A as this will put a bigger bridge and disparity in terms of popularity. She already did well with her song with Baek Hyun. IDEK how they're going to revive Miss A at this point.

parkkkkwp Nova_REMIX Wednesday, October 19, 2016

yeah i kinda lose hope for missA's comeback but knowing everyone has their own schedule kinda made me ok a bit

I will PROBABLY get in trouble for this, but here goes (again). I do NOT think that SUZY is all that good of a singer. BUT, if SUZY does sing songs that are *well suited* to her vocal abilities, then SUZY *should* be FINE in a solo situation. The 'trick' is to NOT try to sing some song that say AILEE sounds good singing it ; but YOU sound AWFUL because YOU are NOT AILEE.

krell Wednesday, October 19, 2016

As an IDEA, SUZY and IU are *very* good friends. So, MAYBE one could arrange some kind of *DUAL* Concert situation with SUZY and IU. That way, they could each do some SOLO songs and some songs TOGETHER. And so, it would NOT be the FULL PRESSURE on SUZY to be ALONE as a SOLO performer. You 'lean on' the EXPERIENCE of IU some ; is my thought on it.

krell Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Plus, SUZY + IU = MONEY ($$$$$$) ... It feels like MONEY raining from the SKY as I envision a shared concert with them. Would such a Concert SELL OUT QUICKLY? ... Do S.KOREANS eat NOODLES? ... ;-)

Nutelladela krell Wednesday, October 19, 2016

How about Suzy and Somi debut as solo artists, and then Suzy + Somi + IU form a solo artist trio that comeback once a year? It would help increase IU's solo activities' profit so her company would definitely benefit from something like this, plus it would be legendary af :))

krell Nutelladela Wednesday, October 19, 2016

I personally do NOT see SOMI as a SOLO K-pop Idol yet. In general, it is VERY DIFFICULT to start right out at a YOUNG AGE (SOMI) as a SOLO performer. The other thing, is that the AGENCIES involved, JYPe and LOEN, are actually competitors. So, that they would collaborate ONE time is probably about as good as it gets. And even a ONE TIME collaboration is a 'long shot' in odds of it happening. But, it MIGHT because SUZY and IU are *good* friends. In other words, IF say SUZY and IU *told* their AGENCIES that they wanted it (Combo Performance Together), it *might* happen. IF the 'SUZY and IU' collaboration SOLD a LOT of Music DVD, *then* they would consider MORE to do it again. But mostly, the AGENCIES do NOT cooperate with each other. EXCEPT that they DID do that with this 'Produce 101 TV Show / IOI Group' situation. Which *should* have the AGENCIES *THINKING* about *cooperating* with each other MORE, one would guess. A famous AGENCY *collaboration* was on the (YGe Agency) PSY smash hit song "GANGNAM STYLE" where HYUNA (CUBE Agency) was 'brought in' from outside of YGe to add the *special* VISUAL SIZZLE for PSY. So, collaborations do happen, but RARELY in my view, with MORE than one Agency involved. But YES, I can see a LOT of LOGIC and MONEY supporting a SUZY and IU collaboration. But, the personalities of the two AGENCIES is usually the problem. They do NOT really like each other that much. BUT, they like MONEY.

Nutelladela krell Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Agency rivalries are really such a shame, tbh Kpop agencies would be cashing in a lot more cash if they had their artists collaborate more often. Everyone just wants to make their own artists big but they don't see the cash value in working together with other companies. I mean, imagine if members of Twice teamed up with members of Gfriend to create a sub unit? $$$$$ raining from the sky

krell Nutelladela Thursday, October 20, 2016

Yes, to me, the 'AGENCIES COOPERATING' aspect of the 'Produce 101' TV Show is a BIG deal. BUT, I am NOT sure that it wll last. BUT, at least there is now ONE INSTANCE (PD101 TV Show) where they were SUCCESSFUL via cooperation between MULTIPLE AGENCIES.

The End
