On June 29, JTBC's new variety show 'Girls Who Can Eat' starring A Pink's Namjoo, Nine Muses' Kyung Li, SECRET's Hyosung, Red Velvet's Seulgi, Oh My Girl's Jiho, Gugudan's Kang Mina, and TWICE's Dahyun and Tzuyu aired its pilot episode.

The pilot episode's viewer ratings achieved a mediocre 1.519%, but netizen response to the new show doesn't seem quite positive. In fact, many viewers seemed against JTBC putting a twist to a mukbang-themed show by adding girl group members when mukbang is becoming a dying trend on mainstream TV these days. Furthermore, numerous viewers seemed to find the concept of girl group members overeating a cruel concept to watch.

Netizen comments toward the show included, "Honestly, even for regular people, eating foods like that at night is overwhelming, so it's sad to see girl group members having to do it," "This program has no humanity, just products," "I only see this as a show trying to make fan wars happen," "Variety shows should be enjoyable, but this is just sad," and more.

The show is just boring.

Can someone explain the purpose of this show to me? So the girls are just eating food for us to watch or do they compete for something?

federick chuqhalauj Thursday, June 30, 2016

they compete for the loudest burp

Seriously?! Wow... Haha. That's interesting...

RimmieMeli Thursday, June 30, 2016

I actually do get what they are saying because they might actually starve themselves just so they can eat freely on tv

KenjiT_07 Thursday, June 30, 2016

Honestly these girls need meat on their bones... So this show is actually good for them. But apparently they don't think so... -.-

KpopTruth Thursday, June 30, 2016

Only time I eat like that is when I'm drunk or high as fuck.

April_vicious Thursday, June 30, 2016

I love most of these girls but I didn't watch because the concept of the show did not catch my attention/interest.

How about instead of just shoving their faces in food, give them food challenges? Like really really exotic foods from different countries even. You would learn about different cultures and at the same time watch laugh as the girls panic and try them.

qnaug Thursday, June 30, 2016

well they trying to survive.... lol nothing would matter if the show diededed somewhere

Yeah, the concept needs work. Placing girls to eat food "more deliciously" as means of judging performance, is ridicolous. If they want to save it, find a better way of incorporating eating with competition (ie. Running Man 300th episode special buffet segment).

The show it's so disgusting. It's upset because all the girls are adorable and pretty and you can have an amazing show with them insted of this crap.
