On how he got the role of Yoon Jae in the hit drama series 'You Who Came from the Stars', he said, "I heard that director Jang Tae Yoo wanted to see me, so I went to greet him. I found out that it was the day that they were auditioning for Yoon Jae from 'You Who Came from the Stars'. Writer Park Ji Eun thought well of me as well, so she asked me if I wanted to play the part of Yoon Jae. However, I told her that I wasn't good at acting and respectfully declined." 

However, the moment Ahn Jae Hyun had declined the role, the director saw a bit of Yoon Jae-like qualities in the model. The day after Ahn Jae Hyun had declined the role, the model grabbed dinner with the director to discuss acting.
