A restaurant owner has caught the attention of the media for his quick thinking to save a patron's life.

YTN reported that this past July 12, a man suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed in the middle of a transaction at the front counter. Song, the restaurant owner, shocked that his customer suddenly collapsed, immediately ran over to check on his condition. Upon finding out that the man was still alive, Song began administering first aid on him.

Song told YTN, "I was handing over change but when he didn't accept it, I looked up at his face; that's when he suddenly fell over. I was so shocked at first but I thought that I should administer first aid on him right away, so I attempted CPR on him. It was my first time trying CPR on someone. I continued to administer first aid while talking to emergency services at the same time to make sure I was doing things right."

Song added, "Anyone would have done what I did in that situation so it's a bit embarrassing that I'm getting this attention," laughing sheepishly.

Thanks to Song's efforts, the man's life was saved and he was immediately transferred to the hospital. Later, the man reportedly returned to Song's restaurant to express thanks for saving his life.

Song sounds like a kindhearted soul!

"Anyone would have done what I did in that situation so it's a bit embarrassing that I'm getting this attention" -----> Role model material.

Only good hearted, humble people say these lines.

tbh it's not even true, though it should be. there are people who would just walk away from the man, even if they knew how to save him. and he's really awesome because he also kept his cool in the situation, even though he had never been in that situation before.

He performed CPR on a person who was "alive"? It makes no sense... Is the translation wrong?

xxerikaxx Doodles Thursday, July 14, 2016

their translation is wrong. "alive" means the guy is unconscious and their heart is still breathing and maybe breathing. they shld explain it well

yeah im also confused, u only do cpr when someones heart isnt beating, but he was on the phone with emergency services so they would have told him to stop if that was the case, i think theres just some missinformation

But what if it was the food at the restaurant that made him ill?

gureum_tree SugarFree Friday, July 15, 2016

he was an old man. my guess is that he had a sudden heart attack and collapsed, or something of that nature. bad food doesn't make you collapse like that, unless you have some kind of food needs.

I think everyone should learn first aid, or at least CPR. It really does make a difference.

Thank you for helping that man.
