On September 10,�Sunmi�revealed through her Naver 'V-Live' broadcast that it was a tough decision to leave JYP Entertainment.

During the stream, Sunmi interacted with viewers and talked about the concept of a 'Challenge'. She said, "2017 so far has been a year where I faced many challenges." She continued, "My first challenge was my solo album that I released after 3 years and 5 months. It might have been due to many changes with myself but I had a lot of worries especially with which direction I should take. Within 3 minutes on the stage, I need to pour all my energy into the performance, that's really hard and I was really worried about it."

She also spoke about leaving JYP Entertainment, "I ended up leaving an agency that was like a nest to me. This was also a huge challenge for me because it wasn't an easy decision. It was a place where I spent the last 12 years of my life."

Sunmi elaborated, "I wanted to show a more colorful look to the public and the fans. Besides the things I've done up to now, I wanted to work on a variety of things. Luckily, the company I'm with now was really understanding because of its free atmosphere."
