Jung Il Woo has achieved an impressive title as the first Korean actor to be cast for a lead role in a Thai drama!

Jung Il Woo will be playing the male lead in upcoming Thai drama 'Love and Lies (Gon Rak Game Ma Ya)', and recently left for Thailand for filming on June 5.

According to representative from Jung Il Woo's side, Jung Il Woo chose the piece because "It seemed like a very meaningful project. No doubt, he feels great responsibility toward his first time acting in Thailand. He's working hard with the heart of someone taking on a new challenge. Please show your love and attention for Jung Il Woo's new drama, which contains his strong passion."

Best of luck to Jung Il Woo on his first Thai drama!

O_O Wow... all the Asian countries are coming together. That's kinda cute!

WOW! Congrats!! It is a big achievement and no one should say otherwise!

how does that even work when he's not good at speaking siamese??

Sucks... I don't watch Thai dramas nor will I ever. Their language just reminds me so much of duck's quacking. I couldn't even last 10 seconds until I got annoyed when watching a trailer, what more if I watch a whole Thai drama?

I know what you mean !! I am a huge fan of Full House and I at first I kinda of obliged my self to watch the thai edition and it was super weird!! I am so used to Korean/Japanese/ Chinese dramas that I felt that I was hearing a foreign language when I was watching the thai version but it gets a little familiar after a while So try to give this one a chance !!!!

I sadly kind of agree with the other comments. Jung Il Woo is one of my fav Korean actors, it's wonderful that he can expand his popularity to other countries but he really needs another hit Korean drama because his last one was "Moon Embracing the Sun" and he was the second lead there. He has to do the military service soon, so I'm crossing my fingers for "Cinderella and Four Knights." Since it's a TvN drama I have hopes but who knows...

wonder why they didn't choose Khun?

Armyinthehouse johwa Tuesday, June 7, 2016

I love him and 2pm but let's be honest here, he isn't even close to Il Woo in terms of acting. Actually, other 2pm members like Chansung, Junho or taec are wayyyyyy better actors.

Armyinthehouse Tuesday, June 7, 2016

But he is better at thai, I acknowledge that XD Actually I miss him on TV but I need to be honest ^^

maybe not as good an actor, but looks wise, he's got everybody in PM beat!!!

The only thai that I know is Khop Kun Ka~ :D melai2?

Armyinthehouse L_catzzz Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Maybe more than Il Woo LOL it always amaze me how they do a drama with a male lead that can't speak the language. He is a great actor so ^^

gosh... Jung il woo is such good actor, but haven't had any projects recently for korea, it may be a great title to be the first korean to land a lead role in thailand but still, it is different when it is a Kdrama.

nanuk majong Tuesday, June 7, 2016

He's lead in a kdrama at the moment; it should air soon. It's called "The Four Knights" or something similar ~~~

Yes, Cinderella and the four knights, he is the main actor, and Park So Dam will be cinderella, the show will air on august in tvN =)
