Chinese streaming site Youku-Todou purchased the rights to the newly released SBS drama 'Pinocchio,' featuring Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk, for a whopping $280,000 USD per episode! This amount surpasses the previous record made by 'My Lovely Girl,' which was sold for $200,000 USD per episode.

According to the producers of the drama, the reason for such a positive response from China was because of the solid love story between the main characters along with the societal issues that overlay the overall plot.

The drama not only has the highest export price but it also surpassed the price of 'You Who Came From The Stars' ($35,000 USD per episode) by eight fold!

Producers also added, "The response from other areas besides China has been positive. We will further continue to bring our domestic and foreign audiences with quality dramas as a response to all the love and support."

omg am so proud of park shin hye ❤️❤️❤️

newkpopf Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Glad to hear that.

The big contribution for this case is because Park Shin Hye is very popular in China. She already filmed some Chinese Drama before and the response was good (she become guest on Chinese variety show and shoot Chinese endorsement too). [Note: She was also recognized as "Popular Foreign Actress Award" at the Chinese Anhui TV Drama Awards for drama The Heirs.]

so i think its safe to say whatever drama Park Shin Hye is attached to, as long as the male lead is famous its bound to sell for tons of $$$$ overseas.

ramblings Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Nope. Park Shin Hye is way popular than Lee Jong Suk in China that explains.
