Ahreum has broken up with her boyfriend, and she's now claiming he coerced her into committing fraud.

On April 19, reports revealed Ahreum had broken up with her boyfriend, who she previously said she was intending to marry following her divorce from her ex-husband. The former T-ara member and her ex-boyfriend are facing allegations they defrauded fans and acquaintances out of 40 million won ($28,980.06 USD), and rumors say they asked for money because of a gambling habit.

Ahreum, however, has denied the accusations, stating the former couple had simply received help. She expressed, "Instead of saying they let us borrow money, the right way to phrase it would be there were people who helped us. I couldn't get help when I needed it for a ridiculous issue. I'm using the money to sue those people and get my children back. Though the hackers stole the money, I borrowed money for a good reason. Life is about sharing what you do have. If this was the other way around, I'd have helped those people too. I don't know anything about illegal gambling. I want to show you my phone. I was hacked. All the texts my phone sent out were from hackers. They manipulated it like they manipulate photos."

The screenshots below also reveal an alleged message from Ahreum that states she borrowed money for sports betting. In a video posted by YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, he revealed a conversation he had with Ahreum, who again denied the allegations of gambling. Though the text conversation does state she borrowed the money to gamble, her acquaintances have allegedly come out to say they've never seen Ahreum gamble before. What's also curious is all the money that was borrowed by the couple went into her ex-boyfriend Seo's account. 

Ahreum further claimed her ex-boyfriend had pushed her to borrow the money, and she's already returned all the funds to whoever sent them. She also stated she plans to file a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Seo.

The controversy began when Ahreum accused her ex-husband of physical abuse, and a day later, she reportedly attempted to take her own life. Dispatch then revealed an expose on Ahreum and her now-ex-boyfriend for alleged fraud, and Ahreum claimed she had been hacked. YouTuber Lee Jin Ho followed up with the hacking claims by releasing an alleged voice recording of Ahreum threatening an acquaintance for money.
