A thoughtless father who put his young child's life in danger was caught on camera.

A recent post on an online community portal showed photos of a man driving with a child on his lap and smartphone in his hand. It seems like the father was playing a mobile game while driving.

The photos were taken on Expressway No.1 in Seoul and the original poster noted that the cars on the road were going fast. The OP also pointed out that the father was not wearing a seat belt.

Netizens are outraged at the father saying, "I can't believe my eyes," "How careless," and "I feel sorry for that child." Some are defending the father saying, "There must be a reason why." Regardless if there is an explanation for doing this, the father broke numerous traffic laws. Korean traffic law fines drivers $30 USD for not wearing a seatbelt, a $60 USD fine for using a mobile device while driving, and a $40 USD fine for holding a child while driving.

those fines are dirt cheap.... some countries would charge you double or triple the total amount for just one of those infractions.

There must be reason?? A reason??? There is no good enough reason to justify this irresponsibility. Putting the life of your own son in danger and those around you while you play a stupid game has no excuse really. I really don't think a fine is enough to punish this dumb fuck.

so... what about that lady on Hello Counselor's whose concern was the crazy things her husband would do with the kid... including letting the kid (under 4) take the wheel on a windy country mountain side path?

I can't believe that the fines combined are less than $200 USD for him. Meanwhile in Canada, just using a cell phone alone can get you fined for $500+. This is insane. Korean Traffic Law should really step up its game, its the cheap fines that make these careless drivers think it's okay to do what they're doing...
