Singer/actor Kim Sungjoo, leader of the 3rd generation idol group UNIQ, has confirmed the rumors that he is married and has a son. 

On March 2 KST, Kim Sungjoo wrote via his Instagram,

"Hello, this is Kim Sungjoo.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for surprising so many people with the sudden news that spread recently through online communities and social media, and I also apologize that I was not able to show myself in front of you honestly.

I wanted to deliver the news to my fans who always love and support me, but because it was a difficult matter that required caution, I was not able to tell you.

I know it's late, but I want to come forward with the truth. I will live on as a diligent husband and father from now on.

Thank you."

Previously, an audio recording played during Kim Sungjoo's live broadcast led to speculations that the singer married and had a son. Kim Sungjoo, who debuted as a member of UNIQ in 2014, has been promoting mostly in China since 2020.
