The Ministry of National Defense announced BTS will be able to participate in public and national events while serving in the military.

At a regular briefing on October 18, the acting deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, Moon Hong Sik, spoke about the scope of BTS' performances after enlistment, "We will provide an opportunity for the group to participate in national events for the public interest or any event that is held for the national interest if they wish."

He added, "I still know that some soldiers who have enlisted in the military are also offered such an opportunity if it's available."

Lee Jong Seop, the minister of National Defense, previously stated that BTS would be able to perform overseas while serving in the military 'in the interest of the national interest,' so attention was gathered to whether the new system would be introduced.

BTS' agency HYBE announced on October 17  that BTS members would perform their military service and will enlist in order starting with Jin (Age 30, Kim Seok Jin). If Jin submits a request to cancel his enlistment extension at the end of this month, as announced by his agency, he is expected to enlist in active duty within three months from that or as early as this year.
