Fans and netizens alike praised MBC's 'Show! Music Core' for its fairness after Lim Young Woong took home the first place. 

Previously on May 13th, KBS2's 'Music Bank' faced heavy backlash after the program snubbed Lim Young Woong although he sold over 1 million physical albums in his first-week sales and ranked #1 on Gaon chart's weekly digital streaming chart. It was because he earned 0 points for the "TV broadcast appearance score".

The program has loosely described its "TV broadcast appearance score" criterion as "appearances or plays on TV or radio programs", however, it's believed that the most effective way to meet this criterion is by making guest appearances on KBS-affiliated TV shows, digital shows (such as YouTube content), or radio programs which has nothing to do with fans or consumers' preferences.

On the contrary, on May 14th, 'Show! Music Core' incorporated real-time message and app voting to reflect fans' preferences which resulted in Lim Young Woong's much-deserved win.
