JYP Entertainment announced the agency has made a police report against an Ilbe user who threatened to throw hydrochloric acid on TWICE.

On July 7, the agency stated, "On the 6th, Seoul's Gangnam Police station gave us a notice concerning the related situation," revealing JYPE has started taking legal action. The label has already heightened security for the girl group as when they returned from their concert in Japan.

As previously reported, an Ilbe user poster wrote, "Yeah, money is good. Money is the best. Never come to Korea. I'll be waiting for you at the airport with 10 L of hydrochloric acid." A rep of JYPE expressed the agency's intent to take heavy legal action against the poster.

Stay tuned for updates.

I don't understand at all that mind set. What does that person personally feel against them to threaten that? So crazy

michinpabo 16 days ago

No matter how you hate a group, threat of violence is a no no. Take a step back and realize they are just entertaining people.

Hah, moron's who think they can say anything while hiding behind a computer. He's probably going to wet himself when the police come knocking on the door to his mom's basement.

And the acid threat is really creepy...  People work their ass off, training until midnight, cant live freely, cant meet parent everyday.. Yet people threatened them with acid to ruin their life.. What the hell is wrong with those people... Be better human being

Good. Im not their fan, but they shouldnt be receiving threats like this. Things like this need to be addressed seriously and heavily

I say give him/her 2 years in prison and 1 year probation for attempting to commit a crime. 5 years in prison and 2 year probation if it is a conspiracy with other people. That should set an example to others trying to be tough online.

I'd say 2 minutes... in a vat... of hydrochloric acid... that should whiten up his/her black heart...

Another report said that the person has already been sue for defamation

pablo27 melalabanana 16 days ago

He/she can't be sued for defamation... there was no defamation in his/her was a straight up threat... that's what he/she should be sued for.

melalabanana pablo27 16 days ago

Thats what the report said.

pablo27 melalabanana 16 days ago

I was just saying... maybe the report was in error... but I do hope they caught the perp.

bangeryun94 melalabanana 15 days ago

Sued is the wrong word. When you see that word you usually think that attorney has been hired and JYPE is suing for money. That's not what it is here. JYP filed a criminal complaint for defamation. The person will be charged, arrested if he is located, tried for defamation and if guilty will pay a fine, community service, and/or go to jail.

pablo27 bangeryun94 15 days ago

Oh, so JYPE did file for defamation... over where I'm from the charges will probably fall under something like grave threats... it's going to be a felony charge with possible jail time and a restraining order.

bangeryun94 pablo27 15 days ago

It's like that here as well. Death threats would be a separate and more serious charge
