Sechskies, a legendary idol group that recently reunited, announced that they will make a comeback on December 1.

However, fans are not completely happy about it. It is because YG Entertainment stated that the group's album will be called '2016 Re-ALBUM' -- an album that will contain 10 previously released Sechskies songs that will be re-recorded.

YG announced, "It's an album that has been through a process of 're-recording/rearrange/remaster.'"

Some fans are disappointed that there will be no brand new song from Sechskies for the December comeback, but they suspect that there will be new songs for the group's next potential comeback in April 2017 -- Sechskies' 20th year anniversary.

Another reason why this announcement is upsetting to Sechskies fans is because DSP Entertainment, the agency that trained and debuted Sechskies back in 1998, will receive royalty fees since the old songs still belong to DSP.

Many fans still hold resentment toward DSP for overworking the successful group without giving them proper monetary compensation during their peak, and eventually allowing the group to disband. Because of this history, fans say that they wish YG would write new songs for the group, so the money does not go towards DSP. However, they are also aware of the fact that Sechskies must do well with this comeback in order to be able to release another album next year.

Anyway they release a new album after 16years and will release a new song next year too!!! Just happy to hear their voice in YG style remix song. Yg is notorious for procrastination, but always rewarded with top quality songs.

The fact that YG is going to have copyrights of some Sechskies' songs is just enough for me. Whenever I listen to their song the fee goes to DSP and it feels bad. And I want to listen to the renewed ver. of Road Fighter - not sure it will be in this album though.

I read many kpop news and never found the news saying "fans were disappointed with realbum since loyalty goes DSP". Is there any source saying that?    Nothing is known about DSP's profit distribution since DSP is old, dirty company. But I don't think YG allowed DSP will gain profit from their new album.

With most agencies, if you sign with them, they own your songs. It's similar to what's happening to Beast right now. They want to leave CUBE but if they do, they are leaving behind all their old songs even though they wrote and produced most of them.

In most agencies, you are right. But DSP was not that most agency. What was really bad for sechs kies in old days was, there was no contract between dsp and sechs kies. Thus it is known that each member got some money at the end of the contract rather than distributing exact portion of the profit. That was for dsp to maximize the profit, but ironically, thus Sechs Kies could come back in yg without any restriction. And because of unclear loyalty and no contract situation, no one knows about loyalty distribution.

Actually as a fan, I am very excited about this album. It's actually a chance to listen to their voices in high quality sound of my favourite songs. Not only Sunghoon the main vocal who is known for his sweet voice, I would love to hear J-walks, Suwon and Jaeduck! I fell in love with them in Melon Music stage!

We are unfamiliar with their old songs so it's like new songs for us,  and with a little rearrangement from YG I bet it will be a blast !  It's really refreshing to lsn to 90's hits again

I love their 90s songs but it is true they are quite in old style and so this re album is a great news to me. Additionally it would be a good chance for young generations to be familiar with Sechskies. Above all, Yellowkies will support Sechskies in any situations. I assume this album would also be a big hit and a significant indicator in kpop scene.

Why title is so provocative and misleading? Sechs kies signed on a contract with pretty fair profit distribution , even comparable to Big Bang's. Defintely they will earn a lot of money from this album, and Yg too.

Fans were waiting for new album since there were many situations and rumors about new songs, which make them curious about new songs. But anyway, new song will release in next April 20 years after their debut. Fans can wait for them. I think this is just YG's smart plan to raise as much as profit from fans.

Am I the only one who actually thought that it would be better for them to release the new song on their 20th anniversary? I think YG is rather being smart. I am actually looking forward to the new versions! It would be interesting to compare the new ones with old ones. 16 years between original and new!!
