J.Y. Park does not understand what is funny about his 'half-air-half-sound' technique

J.Y. Park
Many people know and joke about J.Y. Park's famous 'half-air-half-sound' technique, especially as he occasionally mentions it on 'K-Pop Star,' but J.Y. Park revealed that he did not understand what was so funny about it while making a guest appearance on the December 12 edition of SBS's 'Cultwo Show'.

J.Y. Park revealed on the show that he would be singing with a 27-member band. He said, "It is half-singing-half-playing-instruments."

DJ Jung Chan Woo jokingly replied, "Right now, isn't it half-air-half-snow outside?

J.Y. Park responded, "There is something I really don't understand.  'Half-air-half-sound' is something a really famous, foreign vocal teacher said so I don't get why it's funny."

Kim Tae Kyun said, "It is because our nation's culture has a lot of 'half-half,' like 'half-seasoning-half-frying.  It is not because the phrase itself is funny."

J.Y. Park asked, "Is that what it is?" and appeared to be satisfied with the answer.

Why do you think 'half-air-half-sound' is such an amusing topic?
