Do you think "East of Eden" will succeed?

Opinions are divided on whether the big-budget drama "East of Eden", starring the hot hot Song Seung-Hun, eye-candy worthy Dennis Oh and others (hahahaha), has what it takes to be the next Winter Sonata? (in terms of Hallyu power, anyway) The extremely anticipated and hyped drama finally aired on the 25th, in celebration of MBC's 47th anniversary. Viewers are not shy about listing their complaints. After the broadcast, a special aired which contained an introduction of characters, footage of filming the cast in Hong Kong, making of the film, NG (bloopers) reels, views of the open set, etc., viewers spammed the message boards on the homepage. They complained that the special was more like a DVD special feature, and then they complained that there was no reason to air a special - netizens left comments like "I don't see why they needed to broadcast a special", "I wanted to see the actual drama, not a special", "The special was a waste of time", blah blah blah. On the other end of the spectrum, they also left remarks like "It's like a big-budget movie, not a drama", "It looks like a fun drama will come out after a long time", "I feel like I've waited so long for this," etc. Jeez. For those of you unfamiliar with the plot, basically, it's about a man (played by Song Seung Hun) who, as a teenager, witnesses his father being murdered. He swears to seek revenge on his father's killer... But in truth, his own younger brother, who grew up to become a prosecutor and promised to help his 'brother' seek revenge, was switched with his father's killer's son at birth. (Man, can Korean dramas stop this whole switched-at-birth thing?? It rarely even happens in real life!) OMG, they're not brothers!!! What will Song Seung-Hun the main character do when he finds out the brother that was beside him all these years was actually the son of his mortal enemy? Honestly, I think this sounds way too typical, with a few 'twists'. 50 episodes are already 30 episodes too long. I can already imagine the dragged-out crying scenes, emotional outbursts and OF COURSE, the flashbacks. In a nutshell, there are skyrocketing expectations for this drama due to Song Seung-Hun its 'stellar' cast and the wasted $25 million that could've helped feed hungry children in North Korea big budget. Do you guys think East of Eden has what it takes to succeed and break Korea's succession of relatively boring and unsuccessful dramas?
