Golden Child's Joochan has opened up about the stress of his knee injury.

On the latest episode of 'K-Pop Idol Olympic', Joochan featured as a guest and discussed the severe knee injury that led to his hiatus in December of 2018. The Golden Child member shared how he suffered the injury after practice for an end-of-the-year music festival. After his return to the dorm, his "whole body became relaxed," which led to his fall and injury on the staircase.

Joochan explained his anterior cruciate ligament was torn, and his medial collateral ligament and cartilage were also damaged. He was then told his ligaments had suffered the most severe type of injury. 

He expressed, "The year-end was not far away. It was less than a week away, so I told them I didn't want surgery. I wanted to go on stage after taking painkillers, and after that, I'll have the surgery." However, he ended up taking the surgery as it would affect the rest of his life.
