To be honest, everyone will take this differently. Depending on how you read and understand it. It depends on whether you are some that looks at positive before negative. Do you takes things as grain of salt or you analyze every detail. It even comes down to if you think/associate of JP as a good person or a bad person. All this contributes to how you interpretate his advice.
Honestly, until I hear or see a video of him saying the exact advice, I can't fully judge him. Words you read will always have a different feeling with context, visuals and sound.
If I say "I'm happy." Most people will think positive right away because of the image th eword happy gives. But if you heard me say it. I could have said it in a sarcastic tone, then automatically the meaning is different.
1st - this question was insensitive to begin with.
2nd - people are overthinking JP advice/words. Just read and understand it literally and it changes your perspective.
All that I see him saying is that we women should look for someone that see us as equals, someone that is honest (don't give fake flatteries), someone that don't look down on us. He's pretty much saying we women are and can be strong, independent people. That we don't need to lean on men because we worry about stability. Again this spam from what the society expects from women (well at least in a lot of Asian countries - parents say to look for a man that is stable financially, has properties etc). JP is saying that women should instead look for someone who sees us for who we are. And from his opinion, it seems he believes that this can conyribute to couples beeing able to live a happy, honest life together, for life. He basically saying to look for a best friend that can accompany us for eternity.
I don't think he's implying that women are money hungry and materialistic. I do think he's saying that women shouldn't worry about society norms thrown at them but be with someone that truly cares for who you are as a person. And in a way I think its very generalized. Halfway through - it almost seems like he speaking about both genders and not specifically about women only.
For comments below. Its not about whether you fantasize about dating an idol/actor or not. You can fantasize all you want. The problem is when people take that fantasize and start thinking that its real or even possible. Fantasizing is all fun. I fantasized a bunch of things about idols that I like. For example, I ship certain members together or if this guy idol or actor were to date this other girl or guy idol/actor. What if they have kids? It would look so cute. I sometimes think, if I were to date this idol what would it be like etc. I fantasize about celebs all the time but the difference is I know it isn't real and it isnt possible for any of these to happen. Fans that is hung up on "I cant believe my bias are married, dating or going to marry" is just straight up delusional. Celebs don't reveal it...well duh...it would have been exactly like now. If they revealed early, well the fans either A. Shame the celeb B. Leaves the fandom C. Talk bad about that celeb's partner or family (cyber bullying) or really D. All the above. Reveal it later like these idols, well now they turn around and say 'how could you hide a family', 'how could you make them not being able to call you as their father for so long?'. Either way, the celeb ends up being mistreated. These people have way too much time on their hands. They have too much time so they find ways to express their hatred and anger. To me, nothing is surprising anymore in the korean industry. I read the article and that's it. Its their life not ours. People take these things way to personal.
no. using real names on the internet will cost more lives than it saves. stalkers are out here trying to identify just anybody, even looking for information in the reflections in their pupils. if we all go online with our real names no one will be safe
True but I dont agree. You think if people really want to find out who you are they can't with a username that isnt your real name. This day and age, it isnt difficult amymore. If you want to be safe. The only option is to not comment at all, whether bad or good
This is such a stupid idea.
Why? Afraid you'll get caught for your past, current and future actions?
This is such a bullshit if you can't take the heat gtfo out of social media or show business..everyday I hate sulli more..
Wow! What has she done to you for you to hate her? Killed your family, murdered you pets, stole yuor bf/gf? You don't even know her personally and for you to have that much hate, I think the person with problems is you. Social media wasn't create for people to cyber bully or leave malicious comments. You're the one that needs to leave social media. Your nothing but toxic!
I strongly agree with this movement. People might say that's a violation of rights etc. But heck no! If you're gutsy enough to post negative comments and cyberbully someone else then own up for it. Gutsy enough to do the action but not proud enough to say you did it - well then its probably a hint that you shouldn't have done that. There should be harsh consequences for that. People get off so easily nowadays with just "I'm sorry, I won't do that again" bullshit. Its all just words. Give them a taste of their own medicine and they shut up. Look at all those people that bullied Sulli. They're all suddenly angels and repenting on their mistakes. Bunch of hypocrites!
To be honest. We all don't know Taeyong personally. So I can't say for sure what his real personality is like today. What I want to say to everyone down here is that - he did this during his middle school age so anywhere between 12 & 15. Guys, do you know how immature we were at that age. Yes, its not an excuse but all of you guys down here calling him names, degrading him. You do realize its cyber bullying as well. What makes you different from him now? He's an adult now and from observing people around him, everyone sees him as a hard working and good person. So your
comments are pretty much targetting Taeyong as a 12 or 15 year old kid. How are any of you guys better? I don't know how credible Wikitree is. To give them the benefit of doubt. We should give him a chance to prove himself. We have all done something we shouldn't had when we were young. I don't think Taeyong should be getting hate for something he's done in his early teens. Yes, he should be called out for it. But we also need to be understanding. Think about it. Someone that is now changed and is a better person. If you were to meet him today, would you be able to hate him for the things he had done in the past? I think to the girl, their meeting was more of getting closure. And again. We don't know the extend or details of how far his bullying went. I've always been on the larger side and I have heard multiple times people commenting on my weight. If I were to take that as bullying each time then, I probably be in deep depression now. Some people take people comments way to seriously that it boggles my mind.
My stepsister is suffering from the same thing as V. She's also a big BTS fan. She'll prob go gaga over this lol
Just a question because I'm too lazy to google: Why are Koreans so sensitive about Hanboks in fashion? If my country used my country's traditional clothing for fashion shows I would barely even bat an eye.
Hanbok in fashion is fine. But it is something that represents their nation. It has always been an outfit that represents virtue and has that clean/reserved look. One should not take a hanbok and redesign it. Its fine to say that an outfit is inspired by hanboks. But never create a different version of a hanbok and claim it as one. I believe this is just a respect for that culture and the years of history that is behind it. Some cultures are open to changes but some just aren't. We gotta respect that.
Having Hanbok in the competition isn't the issue. If you claim to have hanbok outfits instead of swimsuits then it should deliver. These aren't hanboks at all. If they announced that they'll have hanbok inspired outfits then these fits the bill. But instead, they took something traditional and made it look too revealing.
Wait ~ do they mean he's 173 and weighs 51.5 kg. Cause163 cm tall and 51.3 kg is not overly underweight. If he's 5'8 (173cm) at 113 lbs than that makes sense.
I've never liked YG or their artists much to be honest. I've listened to some of their songs but was never a YG fan. There has always been something off about YG & their agency. To be honest...I think I subconsciously know who is good and who is bad. All the idols or past idols that have been in big scandals, I've never had much interests in them, so it wasn't a big disappointment when I Iearnt about what they did. The only surprising one for me so far is Yoochun. But then again, there were hints that he's a perverted guy. I remember JYJ doing and interview 2 years ish after they left TVXQ. They were talking about relationships (with who and what they would like to do when they found a partner etc). At YC turn, he said "I find that kids nowadays are so well developed" (he's talking about young teens body). It gave me the chills. He's checking out 13 years old. Jaejoon & Junsu were so shocked what he said. Since then, he's been on my alert.
To be honest, I think the producers, crews and casts should be punished. The casts might be innocent. They might have really not known that the giant clams are endangered but still, because they killed, cooked and ate them, some sort of repayment should be done and acknowledged. However, jail time is way too harsh. Paying a fine should be appropriate. Since this has blown up so big, I believe that people are now aware of this issue. Even if they aren't going to jail, SBS producers, crews and the casts are now forever remembered as endangering protected species. That alone is shameful for the rest of their lives. But honestly, its makes no sense why this sort of crime deserve jail time. Its ridiculous. People that have done way worst to humanities don't even get 4-5 years in jail. Jail should only be for people that harms other human beings. I don't condone animal violence. I get that its endangered but still 4 years is too extreme. Its like going to jail for killing and consuming a chicken. Its a freaking clam. I think a fine is enough. Or something like they're banned from entering Thailand for 5 years or for life. But jail...so weird. You send rapists, murderers and terrorists to jail and not people that ate clams. Don't get me wrong. I know they are endangered but I have a different outlook about this. Species that are near extinctions to be honest, no matter what you do will become extinct, maybe not in 50 years but they will in maybe 200 years. The point is that this is just natural selection. Animals become extinct to make room for other new species to evolve. I'm not saying, go ahead and hunt them. I'm saying this should be dealt case by case. If it was an honest misunderstanding/misinterpreted case, jail as punishment is way too much. To me clams are seafood that you eat. If this was like an animal that isn't normally consumed by humans like a lion then I say go ahead put that person in jail. It's a freaking clam. Even I wouldn't guess its endangered. I would have just thought "oh wow a gigantic clam".
The fans that demanded an apology is doing it for there own satisfaction really. Seriously at this point, I don't think it has to even do with wanting an idol to be perfect and can't have flaws. Its more like fans adores their idols so much that they cant accept if anything or anyone else touches them without their consent. But fans fail to realise, Idols aren't objects that they get to decide and manipulate how they want. Im this case, i got to call out the fans that demanded Seunghoon to apologize. First, in terms of sunbae, true that BtoB debuted before Winner. Seunghoon doing that might be perceived as disrespectful. Even we dont know how close they are in real life. I dont think he would have done that if they didnt know each other personally. Plus if in real life they talk, Seunghoon is older then Ilhoon. So his action can totally be excused. The boys were having fun. Ilhoon didnt seem to be offended or hurt by it. Stop blowing things out of proportion. And people stop judging idols by the label they're under!
Jonghyun will forever be the artist that I hold dear to heart. I've been a Shinee fan for 11 years. My heart can never be the same anymore. :(
I think it has been confirmed that Jaehwan is attending....I wonder who else is going to be there? Daniel...finger crossed & Jisung...heck I want all of them 😭
ungrateful kids leaving the company that raised them. People like these will definitely flop
God another person that likes to be the center of attention. I'm pretty sure this was negotiated from the start of their Wanna One promotion. KD and YJS hasn't signed an exclusive artist contract with MMO but only with YMC. MMO has decided to let them go (mutual agreement). From the get go, they were to be signed under a different agency once Wanna One disband. This wasn't a shocker. We just didn't know which agency until now. Plus it seems like LM is a subsidiary or an agency that is related to MMO. So really - do your research before commenting. Makes you look like an idiot.
I can understand the reason Seungri quit. I don't want to be the one that has to deal with the legal fees or the whole investigation process if I wasn't involved. However, i think this could have been dealt with in a better way. Seungri could have just went out with it to the media first before it gets covered. If he wasn't involved or has any knowledge of it ; Its not a bad idea to come out and address it. I would have said - Hello this is Seungri. Just recently, at my club "..." an incident occured (insert explaination/situation). I wasn't aware or directly involve in the incident. The police was involved etc... You will all shortly hear the news and see articles addressing the issue. I will do my best to resolve. Or I will assist in the investigation. Once that everything is resolved, I plan to resign my position as the Director. I am ashamed that this has happened. Etc..."
- I just feel like if he was honest and sincere, people might excused him or be more sympathetic but now people are thinking that he ran away once he knew what happened.
I don't understand - yes there is a drinking culture in SK. Ex: For after work meeting/business purposes etc, its ubderstandable. But what I don't understand is those that drink excessively on their own: out with friends or at home. They drink to the point of feeling sick, blacking out etc. Is it really just for fun, for socializing or is there a deeper internal reason to all those drinking? Mental health issues? Depression? Boredom? Sadness/Loneliness? If yes, then SK is in of a huge need of mental health classes.
To the comments below - just to clarify, not all students at this art school are going into the entertainment stream. Many students are just regular people with a passion for art/performance etc. It just so happens that lots of trainees or idols attend these schools because it alignes with their passion or career (if already an idol or actor). So that said - there's not an ounce of good reasons to make these kids perform for events unrelated to school. Aren't they smart enough to see that what they did was exploitation from underaged minors!?
It is sad when outside factors are the cause of their break up. But I have a feeling it never was serious. Honestly, they just didn't seem compatible. From the get go I had a feeling that they would break up very soon. Kai and Krystal was a better match in terms of artist, personality and appearance.
Well said!!! This is what I have been telling others as well. Some people take shipping too seriously. And I appreciate when you said "fans feel a form of parasocial interaction and a fake connection to (idols). It is because of this connection that we feel towards them that we can’t help but speculate about what they do when the cameras are not on them." I've been looking for a way to explain to my 13 years old sister about how her obssession with BTS isn't healthy. Dont get me wrong I'm a huge kpop nerd. Been for the past 14 years. However, you got to know your limit. Shes even said if theres no more BTS, I'll probably kill myself. Like wow~ Whenever they're on a break ~ shes like a zombie. Always bored, sad, sighing. She has no other hobby. Its kind of sad really. I feel like most young kpop fans fell to see or yet to realise that there is more to life then just idols. Its fun to ship them, to listen to them argue with each other, to watch them dance and sing etc, I get it! But they got to know the limit. Yes you know them, to them you're their fan but truthfully they don't know you on a personal level to answer such personal questions like "is so&so a good kisser?" These fans are imposing their fantasy/imagination on others.
wow~ that is very little money. You guys call it unfair but tbh it might just be very possible that Stellar really only made that much after paying off their debt to the company. Its sad but its the reality. Its just shows that Stellar werent as loved by people. They worked their ass off but not many cared for their music. Im surprised they lasted 7 years. Most company would have disbanded a group like that within 3 years. The company is at fault too but i gotta give it to them. Because they tried multiple styles and concepts for the girls to see if a change of style will do amy good and by prolonging that, the girls got to live out their idol life that they worked hard for. Sexy concept was probably uncomfortable for them but hey now you know that it wasn't about the concept but people just had no interest in the group. No dissing Stellar. Just stating the facts.
This is so stupid. People, please take everything you read as a grain of salt. There haven't been concrete evidence for you to take sides. So far, all we know is that Soojin had a somewhat delinquent middle school years. How much of it is considered unacceptable really depends on how you see it. For me things like underage smoking and drinking aren't good but that don't deserve hate from others. If Soojin did bully others than yes that is unacceptable but again where is the proof. Everyone is jumping on this idol bullying case, in which, so far more than 8/10 of them aren't true. Some bored ass lunatic teen or adult thought it would be fun to defame someone. They are all but cowards. There should be consequences for their actions for this whole fiasco to end.
Back on topic. Seo Shin Ae, in the past did say her classmates made fun of her but again did she say directly that Soojin is involved. It seems like Shin Ae post possibly implies that the person that was bullying victim "B" was Soojin. In which, Soojin has clarified and admitted to the ones she did wrong and clarified the ones that she didn't commit. Again, I'm taking it as a grain of salt. Nothing is offical yet, so why are fans attacking the artists and each other.
Again, I'm bringing up a lot of points about Soojin as such because really Shin Ae haven't said anything to be honest. She hasn't said yes or no to any of the accusations towards her or Soojin. So really we don't have the 2nd side of the story until she says something.
