For the third year in a row, an anonymous angel has been donating money to a firehouse with a cardboard box filled with currency notes and a batch of handwritten letters.
According to Yonhap News , a box was set in front of a Wonju Province firehouse on February 21.
Numerous messages were written on the cardboard box reading, "Thank you rescue workers," "Thank you mister firefighters for always protecting us."
Additionally, at the very top of the box was a bag filled with warm custard-filled bread.
Once removing all the tape, various currency notes ranging from 1,000 KRW (around $1) up to 10,000 KRW (around $10) along with coins were found inside the box.
Counting up the all the money in the box, the anonymous angel donated 3.4 million KRW (around $3,000) in total. The surprising thing was this wasn't the first time this has happened. The same person had donated 4.2 million KRW (around $3,700) last year and 2.59 million KRW (around $2,300) two years ago while always anonymously leaving a box filled with custard pastries.
An employee of the firehouse commented, "We asked around regarding the owner of the box, however, it has remained a mystery."
The employee added, "I think this person didn't want to cause a ruckus so she delivered the box by car this time."
Firefighter Won claimed, "We are very grateful for being acknowledged for our duties. We are so thankful to be able to receive such a great gift and will continue to do our best to serve."
