A controversy has arisen over the actions of one traffic cop.
On June 1, one community focusing on cars posted a dash cam that showed a motorcyclist on the right side who was cruising along when suddenly a policeman pushed him so that he and his bike skidded into the middle of the road onto oncoming traffic. Luckily, the car stopped in time so as not to hit the rider, but it could have have been a very dangerous situation. The policeman walked over and helped prop the motorcycle back up while its rider walked to the sidewalk.
It turns out that the motorcyclist had not heeded the law. While the cop was shouting, "Stop," the rider did not listen, and the policeman took matters into his own hands by pushing him to a halt once in reach.
Seeing this video, citizens were torn. One side stated, "This is clearly excessive action by the police . . . I cannot understand why you would force a transgressor who did not threaten any lives into a situation in which his life was threatened."
Another side stated, "The policeman's life may not have been in danger, but the lives of the citizens who were waiting for the light at the crossroad to change were in danger . . . Even though the policeman sent him a sign to stop, the transgressor tried to flee, so something to this extent was necessary to stop him."
