"There were no issues with the contract," Company P releases an official statement regarding their advertisement deal with Meenoi

With the ongoing controversy surrounding Meenoi's no-show in an advertisement filming, the advertiser Company P released an official statement sharing their side of the story.

On March 7, Company P explained through an official statement that they were notified of Meenoi's absence and the advertisement cancelation on the day of the filming. Company P explained, "We were surprised and taken aback when we were notified of the advertisement cancelation on the day of the filming and we were notified of the contract termination the day after. However, we made efforts to resolve the situation amicably, understanding the circumstances of AOMG and the artists. We only requested the minimal compensation for damages."

Earlier, it was reported that Meenoi had not shown up for an advertisement filming on January 30. According to reports, Meenoi raised issues with AOMG signing the contract without her acknowledgment.

Until now, Company P kept their silence and explained, "Watching from afar as the ongoing controversy unfolds, we hoped that no further issues would arise. We have been conversing with each other to understand each other's circumstances in empathy and support." The representative of Company P also clarified that "There was no issue with the contract content. That is why we remained neutral and we remained silent, hoping things can be resolved amicably."

However, Meenoi continued to state there were issues with the contract clause and that the advertiser demanded too much content. However, Company P explained, "There were no unreasonable demands made to the advertising model in the contract. The usual contract terms with celebrity advertising models typically involve a duration of 6 months, with one print photoshoot and one video shoot. The duration of each shoot is subject to the regulations of the agency, so all situations were conducted under agreed-upon conditions. Furthermore, brand promotion through the advertising model's personal social media accounts typically involves 1-2 uploads throughout the duration of the contract. Therefore, with Meenoi, we only asked for one social media post."

Company P also revealed, "We withdrew the contract without demanding any penalty that is usually required for violating the contract due to personal reasons of the advertising model. The initial payment for the advertising model was 200 million KRW (220 million KRW including surtax), and there were no separate requests for cost caps. So, we asked for damages compensation, including detailed cost estimates for actual expenses, including the model fee."

Company P added, "All matters related to the contract were transparent without bias from either side and proceeded with mutual agreement. The reason we are unable to disclose the contract is because there is a clause stating that the contract cannot be disclosed or transferred to third parties, and we want to continue to abide by this clause. If the contract needs to be disclosed, we are willing to under the consent of all three parties involved in the contract."

Below is the full statement from Company P:

"Greetings.
We would like to clarify the position of the brand (Company P) regarding the recent issues related to the advertising contract and filming with Meenoi (Park Min Young).
We were surprised and taken aback when we were notified of the advertisement cancelation on the day of the filming and we were notified of the contract termination the day after. However, we made efforts to resolve the situation amicably, understanding the circumstances of AOMG and the artists. We only requested minimal compensation for damages.
Watching from afar as the ongoing controversy unfolded, we hoped that no further issues would arise. We have been conversing with each other to understand each other's circumstances in empathy and support, hoping no further issues would arise.
Therefore, we maintained neutrality despite numerous inquiries and chose to remain silent, refraining from disclosing the brand name.
We still hope to resolve the situation amicably even at this moment through this statement.
1. There were no unreasonable demands made to the advertising model in the contract.
2. We withdrew the contract without demanding any penalty that is usually required for violating the contract due to personal reasons of the advertising model. The initial payment for the advertising model was 200 million KRW (220 million KRW including surtax), and there were no separate requests for cost caps. So, we asked for damages compensation, including detailed cost estimates for actual expenses, including the model fee. And the payment was made to all involved parties.
3. We decided to conclude this issue without any compensation for the overall strategy change in the annual marketing plan for the year 2024, which included all quarterly advertising plans and execution budgets (45-50 million KRW). this stance remains unchanged.
4. All matters related to the contract were transparent without bias from either side and proceeded with mutual agreement. The reason we are unable to disclose the contract is because there is a clause stating that the contract cannot be disclosed or transferred to third parties, and we want to continue to abide by this clause. If the contract needs to be disclosed, we are willing to under the consent of all three parties involved in the contract.

5. AOMG promptly proceeded with compensation for damages after the incident occurred.
We express our gratitude and apologize for the inconvenience to all staff members, including those who provided meals and accommodation for the unavoidable circumstances of the cancellation, and to the advertising planning/production company and shooting team involved in the arduous shoot on the third day. Compensation for damages was swiftly processed with deep gratitude and apologies for the inconvenience caused.

We are deeply concerned about the current situation.
We extend our apologies and gratitude to all staff members who participated in the advertising shoot.

We were honored to have selected 'Meenoi' as our brand model, hoping to work together to bring her energy and vitality to our brand.

We hope the situation will be swiftly resolved and that she will return brightly and positively to her activities. We will continue to show our support.

Lastly, we would like to state that we will not entertain any further inquiries regarding this matter.

We will strive to meet expectations as a brand deserving of the attention and support received.

Thank you.

Wow really classy company. They prepared a better statement than some of these high-end entertainment companies.

Guess other companies will stay away from sponsoring her now. Moved to a new company and first thing happened was this. Unprofessional whatever the truth may be.
