IU's agency cracks down on concert ticket scalpers and permanently bans individuals

AKP STAFF

Leading up to IU's concert, her management company stepped into the battle against ticket scalpers. The company has tightened its measures against these scalper tickets due to an uptick in illicit ticket sales.

On February 29, IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, shared a notice titled '2024 IU H.E.R. WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN SEOUL: Invalid Ticket 2nd Cancellation Information' on IU's official fan cafe. The notice stated that the company took action against a total of 44 bookings found to be fraudulent transactions, following its policies.

As a result, five individuals who booked with the same contact details and those suspected of suspicious transactions were permanently removed from IU's official fan club. Furthermore, 29 general ticket buyers suspected of dubious transactions related to this concert had their tickets canceled and were barred from joining IU's official fan club or making future concert bookings.

The company has intensified monitoring efforts to identify evidence of ticket scalping related to IU's concert tickets.

In cases where evidence is lacking, additional identity verification will be required for on-site ticket collection or entry.

These enhanced measures aim to prevent ticket scalping issues for IU's concerts and ensure that fans can purchase tickets through a fair and transparent process. The company plans to continue its vigilance, take further action against ticket scalping, and seek fans' continued support and cooperation.

Meanwhile, IU is set to hold her solo concert, '2024 IU H.E.R. World Tour Concert IN SEOUL,' at the KSPO DOME in Songpa-gu, Seoul on the 2nd and 3rd, and the 9th and 10th.

This concert will consist of a total of four performances. Following Seoul, IU will take her world tour to Yokohama, Taipei, Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, London, Berlin, Bangkok, Osaka, Newark, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Rosemont, Auckland, and Los Angeles.

I have too much respect for her. The measures she and her company are doing to prevent scalpers and people getting scammed with overprice tickets. The fact that her concert tickets are affordable compared to the rising cost of concert tix of other artist as well. She is really showing in these ways that money isnt the main focus for her, its about coming back to meet the fans. I wish allkpop also wrote an article on how IU recently invited an elderly fan via IG from US to her concert after watching his mv reactions on YT haha

I wish US artist could do this but ticket master is a joke! My sister managed to get a good tickets for Beyonce last year but she showed me that people around us bought tickets second hand for $1k-$2k more than what she paid. I also remember the poor T-swift debacle.
