A senior officer of the Incheon Metropolitan Police has been arrested on suspicions of leaking investigation information about the late actor Lee Sun Gyun.

The arrest was made on March 21 KST by the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Investigation Unit of the Southern Gyeonggi Police.

The senior officer, 'A', is currently facing accusations of leaking the investigation report filed during Lee Sun Gyun's drug use investigation in October of last year. It has been confirmed that 'A' was not affiliated with the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit at the time of the investigation.

Alongside 'A's arrest, the police conducted a second search and seizure operation of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency.

Previously, the Southern Gyeonggi Police received a request from the Incheon Metropolitan Police in January of this year, asking to investigate the leakage of investigation information surrounding Lee Sun Gyun's case. An investigation involving an external agency was requested to ensure fairness and transparency. 

Meanwhile, 'A' will be transferred to the Southern Gyeonggi Police Agency for a detailed investigation, accompanied by a thorough analysis of all seized materials.
