K-netizens express unease over Fendi artistic director's hand placement on IVE's Yujin

Recently, the latest attention of many K-netizens has been drawn to a moment between Fendi's artistic director, Kim Jones, and IVE's Yujin.

The idol and the artistic director were seen at the latest Fendi show for the 2024 Milano Fashion Week. As the fashion world gathered in Milan for the highly anticipated Fendi show during Fashion Week, an unexpected moment took center stage of discussion in various Korean online communities.

One Korean netizen brought a short clip of the two individuals posing at the photo wall. It was at this moment that Kim Jones was seen putting his hands on Yujin's hips.

The Korean netizen asked, "I have something I'm curious about this gay person who is with An Yujin. I felt really gross after seeing this gif for the first time. Even though he's openly gay, is it okay to touch her like that? I thought it was rude but I heard that action is considered good manners and doesn't really mean anything...? Is it because of cultural differences?"

Other Korean netizens joined the conversation and shared their thoughts on the matter. They commented, "He's always like that. I think it is a cultural difference," "It makes me feel uneasy," "I graduated from a university overseas but putting your hands on the hips like that at an official event is more respecting (?) the other person. If he touched her butt then it would be intentional but he left his hand right on her hip above her butt. My friend once said that linking arms and giving finger hearts that Koreans do feels like flirting," "It feels a bit dirty," "Jennie, Rosé, Hanni, and other female idols who were invited to the fashion show have a lot of gifs like that... If it were heterosexual men doing that, it would've been uncomfortable, but they're all gay. In reality, even if they were heterosexual, they wouldn't have much skinship with women's waists or hands in the United States," and "What's different from Korea is if the man doesn't touch the women when taking photos, we think that's having good manners but I heard overseas, it's rude because the female might think she's repulsive so the man isn't touching her."

This isn't normal in western countries either. This is highly disrespectful. Normally the lowest is mid waist unless you are in a relationship with that person. Dude is practically groping her....

It depends on the relationship I guess. Even in western countries it's a bit of a sketchy area. There's a reason "hoover hands" exist lol
