"I'm doing things I want to do," Yulhee's social media update causes netizens to feel bad for her children

Netizens had a negative reaction to Yulhee's recent social media update.

On February 2 KST, Sports Chosun released an article about the former LABOUM member's recent social media updates, where she documented the joyful time she was spending with her friends. She shared photos of her smiling happily while having a meal at a brunch cafe and was said to also have drunk beer with friends while watching soccer at a bar. "These days, I'm spending time with friends, eating delicious food, visiting cafes, and doing things I want to do," she wrote in a caption.

Back in December, the former idol announced her divorce from F.T. Island's Minhwan after five years of marriage and becoming parents to a son and twin daughters. Minhwan was granted custody of their three children.

While the Sports Chosun article talked about Yulhee's weekend with friends in a largely neutral-positive light, many netizens left comments showing concern over the divorce. Comments included, "I feel bad for the kids," "This is truly a sight," "Even if you can't raise them yourself, you can continue to spend time with them," "I understand there is a story, but do you like drinking and having fun more than your two daughters? [...] Are you saying it's better to drink and have coffee than with the kids?," "They say that no matter how good the dad, grandma, and grandpa are, there is a lot of empty space left by the mom. [...] Can't she just quietly do what she wants to do, or dos she have to show off?," and "Choi Minhyun, be healthy and happy with the kids. I support Choi Minhyun."

She was 19 when she got pregnant. Perhaps she felt pressured to get married and didn't have the chance to enjoy things people her age usually do. Your social life shouldn't end just because you have kids. Do people expect for her to be glued to her children 24/7?No wonder people don't want to have kids these days.

The kids are usually the ones who suffer in divorced families. Let's just hope Minhwan and Yulhee can co-parent their children successfully. I pray they let their kids know and feel that they are still very much loved by their parents. Their well-being should be a priority.
