On January 22, PLEDIS Entertainment’s new boy band in 9 years since SEVENTEEN’s debut in 2015, TWS (pronounced us “Two-Us”) made its anticipated debut with the mini-album ‘Sparkling Blue’ featuring the title track “plot twist.” Ahead of its official debut, the six-piece group performed the title track and the pre-release single “Oh Mymy : 7s” to the members of the press at the media showcase, held both offline and online.

After posing for individual and group photo sessions, SHINYU, DOHOON, YOUNGJAE, HANJIN, JIHOON, and KYUNGMIN then expressed their feelings on finally debuting. The boys have been waiting for this moment for a long time, so although there's a mixture of enthusiasm and worry, the former won out.

“I’ve long dreamed of becoming a singer when I was just 9 years old. I promise to do my best every time,” said YOUNGJAE. JIHOON then expressed his gratitude to the press who attended, assuring that they would make lots of good music and make everyone fall in love with them. “We promise, we will always be doing our very best,” HANJIN added.

Now that they have presented themselves to the world, DOHOON is delighted to continue showcasing their growth in the future. “Today is the day my dream came true; my heart won’t stop fluttering,” said KYUNGMIN. The group’s leader, SHINYU, said they would try their best to earn the title of the best rookie of the year as they restlessly waited for this day to come.

Debuting under HYBE — which has produced new artists like NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM that have achieved ever-growing popularity and success — and PLEDIS Entertainment — home to global boy band SEVENTEEN — TWS said that they are very grateful to be under the same agency as the artists they look up to. “We want to own up to that and pay back with great music and performances.”

During the Q&A, the boys mentioned SEVENTEEN as their role models. “All six members dreamed of becoming just like them,” said DOHOON. With their seniors (sunbaenim)’s positive influence through their music, TWS hopes to be just like them: to leave a good impact.

With this, the boys shared that they feel grateful and that there’s also a sense of responsibility, motivating them to work hard. Despite feeling overwhelmed and under pressure, TWS promises to work hard to become a strong team under the agency.

Meanwhile, the sextet’s debut mini-album, ‘Sparkling Blue’ consists of tracks “plot twist,” “unplugged boy,” “first hooky,” “BFF,” and “Oh Mymy : 7s,” the album is sure to capture the listeners’ hearts with their ‘Boyhood Pop’ genre. “We want to make sure our music is easy to listen to all the time, and we hope to bring positive energy and catchy tunes,” said KYUNGMIN.

With their team name's meaning of being together with the fans 24/7, TWS hopes to lighten everyone’s mood with good music.
