Actor Jo Jung Suk is set to return to the stage with the musical ‘Hedwig’.

South Korea's top-selling musical ‘Hedwig’ (planned and produced by Show Note Inc.) is a musical that tells the story of rocker Hedwig who wanders in search of the meaning of life stained with wounds, through music. Having received immense love every season since its Korean production debut in 2005, the 14th season of ‘Hedwig’ in 2024 is highly anticipated. It promises to be a more three-dimensional and rich performance, actively utilizing various stage elements such as stage settings, videos, and live broadcasts during the show.

Jo Jung Suk, who first took the stage as Hedwig in 2006, will be participating for the fifth time in 2024, following his appearances in 2008, 2011, and 2016. His portrayal of Hedwig is not only renowned as the most beautiful rendition but also praised for his compelling performance, experienced stage presence, and the wit that adds synergy to the character. He has received enthusiastic cheers and love from the audience, establishing himself as the representative actor for the musical ‘Hedwig’, improving with each season to deliver more skillful and mature performances.

On joining ‘Hedwig’ once again, Jo Jung Suk said, 

“I once mentioned that I would still do Hedwig even after turning forty, and now I am keeping that promise. Although I’ve been part of this for four seasons since 2006, it’s always fun and still warms my heart, so I am very excited. I am curious and looking forward to what I will present this time and hope the audience feels the same. I will prepare diligently to bring a great performance.”

Jo Jung Suk, widely loved for his versatile acting in dramas, films, and recently for a big hit OST, has already garnered significant attention with the news of his return to his roots on stage after eight years.

Meanwhile, the musical ‘Hedwig’ will be performed at the Charlotte Theater from March 22nd (Friday) to June 23rd (Sunday), 2024.
