The '2023 Music Bank Global Festival' finally aired on December 15, showcasing performances of the popular K-pop artists of this generation.

This year, KBS successfully organized the '2023 Music Bank Global Festival' in both Japan and Korea, marking a significant milestone for the network. The Japanese segment of the event (or Part 2) was pre-recorded on December 9 in Saitama, Japan, while Part 1 was held live on December 15 at KBS Hall in Korea. 

This 'Global Festival' stands out as a pivotal moment in KBS's history, distinguishing itself from the network's traditional 'KBS Song Festival' that has been a cornerstone of past years. The 'Music Bank Global Festival' introduces a fresh approach, showcasing KBS's dedication to innovating and bringing new changes.

Adhering to the overarching theme of a global music festival, the 'Music Bank Global Festival' showcased performances from groups with widespread international acclaim. Notably, NewJeans really stood out with an impressive performance of five songs: "OMG," "Ditto," "New Jeans," "Super Shy," and "ETA." Fans were thrilled, with many saying it's one of their favorite performances so far.

However, Korean netizens wonder whether NewJeans were given too much special treatment from KBS as the girls got to perform five tracks compared to other groups performing two or fewer tracks.

Korean netizens gathered in an online community to discuss whether NewJeans were given special treatment. They commented, "How many songs are they performing? Isn't this special treatment?" "In the position of the broadcast company, it's beneficial to show a lot of performances of the hit songs," "They're NewJeans, they won Daesang," "To be honest, NewJeans are unbeatable, and the five songs were all hit tracks," "It's understandable they're the main event," "I think it's too many songs," "Whoever it is, five songs is too excessive," "I think they should've performed more to be honest lol," "They were really trendy this year though," and, "I think it's okay because all their songs are so short."
