This sensational boy group from FNC Entertainment has already captured the hearts of K-Pop enthusiasts around the globe with their electrifying debut and 3-song debut album release. In this exclusive interview with allkpop, we delve into the essence of their music, their journey under the spotlight, and the passion that fuels their tenacity as idols!

allkpop: Congratulations on your official debut AMPERS&ONE! Since the group is brand new, can each member briefly introduce themselves and share a fun fact or something unique about them to our readers?

KAMDEN: Hello everyone, I am KAMDEN from AMPERS&ONE, and I am the eldest and one of the rappers in the group!

BRIAN: Hi my name is BRIAN, and I am from Canada. I am a vocalist in this group!

JIHO: Hello, I am JIHO, and I am the leader. I am a vocalist in this group, nice to meet you!

SIYUN: Hi everyone, I am SIYUN, and I am the vocalist in the group!

KYRELL: Hello everyone, I’m KYRELL, and I am from the States. I am a vocalist. Great to see you all!

MACKIAH: Hi, I’m MACKIAH, and I am from Australia. I am a rapper with KAMDEN.

SEUNGMO: Hello, I am SEUNGMO, the youngest and the vocalist. We are a group of 7 people, but we have more foreigners than Koreans.

allkpop: Our readers may be familiar with some of the members as some of you were contestants on survival shows like Boys Planet, Wild Idol, and Treasure Box. As a group that has evolved from survival shows to a debut album, how have you seen yourselves grow and change as individuals throughout this journey? How did these shows prepare you for your debut and what lessons do you hold from having participated on those shows?

BRIAN: I learned a lot in Boys Planet and helped me develop my style and confidence. But after Boys Planet, it also lit a fire in me to succeed and improve more. It also helped me learn how to look at the cameras and be more comfortable on stage.

KAMDEN: I learned how to make more expressions because during boys planet I got to perform different style songs so right now as an AMPERS&ONE, I am confident with performing any songs.

allkpop: Another congratulations is in store! Your debut album, “AMPERSAND ONE” is finally out! Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the album and what you hope fans will take away from this first release?

BRIAN: I hope fans really like the bright and energy feeling of our songs, and I also hope they are songs that you can keep listening to because they are really easy to listen to.

allkpop: Your debut sound is a blend of pop elements and high-energy and powerful rhythm and your highly-skilled choreography goes hand-in-hand. With "On And On," "Sheesh," and "Sweet and Sour" all featured on this release, is there a favorite that any of you have out of this debut album?

BRIAN: I really like ‘Sweet and Sour’ from this album because it really emphasizes my soft voice.

SEUNGMO: My favorite is ‘Sheesh’ because I believe that it shows our cool and refreshing images and the dance is really fun.

allkpop: Share with us how the filming for your first music video, “On And On” went! Any behind-the-scenes TMI or interesting stories from the filming?

BRIAN: While filming ‘On and On’, it was really fun and interesting. There, I had a scene where I break through a wall but the wall was kind of hard I got hurt a bit, but I am totally fine right now! No worries!

SEUNGMO: We took the MV for 4 days, but while doing so, the weather was a bit cold, and we had to film it for a long time per day. But the meals were so good that I could get over the tiredness from filming the MV.

KYREL:  A tip for writing on your arm: use eyeliner not a regular pencil or pen. Also Seungmo and I were playing Mario Kart in the intro scene.

allkpop: Even though you’ve just debuted, what can the world expect next from AMPERS&ONE? More music? Performances? Covers? Dances? You tell us!

BRIAN: I would say, you can expect lot more exciting content and music from us.

allkpop: A few fun questions for fans to get to know you now! Who is your K-Pop idol role model and why?

BRIAN: My role model is Jungkook from BTS because he's good at everything, and I want to be someone that's also good at everything, just like him.

SEUNGMO: Personally, my role model is Baekhyun from EXO because I believe that his vocals are really solid, and I liked how he always tries his best to develop further.

allkpop: Recommend a song that you’re obsessed with right now!

BRIAN: Right now, I'm obsessed with ‘Yes or No’ by Jungkook.

SEUNGMO: Recently, I’m obsessed with Keshi’s ‘Like I Need You’ because I love the songs with early morning sentiments.

KAMDEN: Recently, I have been listening to Sia's "Snowman" because I just love Christmas and it's coming soon! I'm actually so excited to spend Christmas for the first time with my members.
