When fans went too far: 7 Dangerous K-Star airport moments

AKP STAFF

The phenomenon of fans crowding around celebrities at airports, often referred to as 'mobbing,' has raised concerns about safety and privacy. This trend, particularly prevalent in K-pop, sees throngs of admirers gathering to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars at airports. Given the high volume of travelers moving through these transport hubs, the presence of a famous figure can sometimes lead to chaotic scenes.

Mobbing at airports has become increasingly common with the rise of social media, where fans can easily track celebrities' travel schedules. This accessibility and the desire for close encounters with stars contribute to the surge in airport mobbings. Unfortunately, these situations can lead to serious incidents, including accidents and security breaches, posing risks not only to the celebrities but also to fellow travelers and airport staff. Here are 7 Dangerous K-Star airport moments.

1. BTS Jungkook Being Grabbed At: While at the airport, BTS Jungkook struggles to get through the crowd, as fans from various angles grab him. Some fans even tried to grab his backpack.

2. TXT Soobin Running into A Pole: During the group's departure, Soobin was walking through, waving and saying farewell to his fans, only to run directly into a pole, causing him to nearly fall over.

3. Red Velvet Irene Being Mobbed: The recent airport incident involving Red Velvet's Irene has drawn significant public attention and concern. As she made her way through the airport, numerous fans were seen crowding around the star in an attempt to get closer. Amid this chaos, a fan inadvertently collided with her quite forcefully.

4. WayV Touch Down in China: After landing in China for their schedule, WayV could be seen struggling to get through an immense crowd that left the stars no space at all to be able to get through the airport safely.

5. Girls' Generation Taeyeon Being Knocked Over: Arriving in Jakarta for the Asian Games back in 2018, Taeyeon was aggressively mobbed to the extent that she was actually knocked over. You can see in various fancams just how surprised she is as fans try to make their way closer to her.

6. Wanna One Stampede: On their way to depart for Music Bank in Chile, Wanna One fans created such a stampede that the heavy sliding glass doors broke as fans made their way into the airport.

7. INFINITE Sunggyu and the attempted Drive Away: After completing his schedule for the musical, Sunggyu was en route to the airport when he encountered an overwhelming crowd. The situation escalated beyond mere mobbing, as an excessively fervent fan made an alarming attempt to enter the driver's seat of his van.

While it's natural for fans to be excited about seeing their favorite stars, it's crucial to also consider the comfort and well-being of others in the vicinity. Travel can be a taxing experience, with many individuals feeling weary, jet-lagged, and generally not in the best of spirits. In such a state, dealing with a mob can be particularly overwhelming. Maintaining a respectful and considerate attitude in public spaces is important, ensuring that everyone's experience, including that of travelers and the celebrities, remains as stress-free and pleasant as possible. Let's remember to balance our enthusiasm with empathy and respect for all.

As expected, most of the victims are boy groups because delulu "fans" are d e l u l u and think that each one of these idols are theirs. They are obsessed with them and it's scary at this point.
