Highlight's Dongwoon apologized to fans after the news of his upcoming marriage.

On July 6, Dongwoon turned on a YouTube live session to chat with his fans and comfort fans who might be angry over the news of his engagement. The Highlight member expressed, "I'm sorry to say hello too late. I'm very nervous. I couldn't wait to meet and talk to you, but I had a lot of worries. Depending on the nuance of the words I wrote, my thoughts and stories could flow differently, so I thought it would be better to do a live broadcast even if I rambled. I'm really sorry it's too late."

He continued, "I think you're a little more upset and more confused as I took longer because I'm coming from a cautious perspective. Unlike usual, I feel like you wouldn't be able to sleep or eat. I'm sorry to take such a long time. Right now, my heart is very apologetic, so I don't think I could talk to you like I usually do. I think I need a little time."

Dongwoon further apologized for bringing a burden to the Highlight members and to his fans, saying, "I'm sorry for sharing such burdens with my Highlight hyungs and everyone. I want to apologize. I'll do my best to do well. I'm reading the messages you're sending, and I'm spending my time thinking of them."

Some fans are taking issue with Dongwoon's apology as he did not read a prepared letter, while others are angry that his marriage might disrupt Highlight's comeback activities. 

In other news, Highlight's label Around US Entertainment confirmed Dongwoon will continue to promote actively as a member of the group after his marriage.
