Rookie group 2Z heavily criticized for using George Floyd’s "I Can't Breathe" audio in a new song

Rookie band 2Z recently gained a large number of new fans and attention after being one of the first Korean groups to publicly speak about and support the #Blacklivesmatter movement on their Twitter account.

However, the group has now recently come under fire, as member Hyunwoong released a new song which contains actual audio of George Floyd’s last words “I Can’t Breathe” only moments before he died at the hands of a white police officer.

Now Twitter is accusing the group of trying to capitalize on the black lives matter movement to grow their fanbase without educating themselves on the matter.

Many people expressed their disappointment and shock that the audio was used in a song, and fans quickly started to unfollow the group on twitter, as member Hyunwoong deleted the song and made an apology to his instagram account.

The group also posted an apology to their shared twitter account, and their company also made a statement on the matter.

What do you think about the situation?

I truly do believe his intentions were good and I feel really bad for him, but at the same time I'm like "what was he thinking??" NOT a good idea AT ALL!
