Why doesn't BTS address how toxic their fandom has become?

Recently I've seen this question being asked a lot and its time an answer was provided.

First of all, let me start with i don’t think BTS need to address anything about it. Because, first, it’s not their responsibility to do that. If a fan is toxic, that’s because s/he is a toxic human being. Nothing to do with the idol itself.

Secondly, let’s look at what BTS has gone through these past years. (i’ll try to keep this short)

2013 :

  • They were cut from broadcast of their debut stage on Mnet. There was supposed to be JK’s verse in No More Dream, but Mnet cut it.
  • People (especially VIPs) called them a BigBang rip-off
  • Their names were mocked as cringey (t/n : Bulletproof boy scouts)

2014 :

  1. Plagiarism accusation by EXOLs, over school uniform concept (in Boy In Luv MV)
  2. Antis trended a hashtag #kickJhopeoutofBTS , and it trended until BTS’ old friend from American Hustle Life, know about it and tweeted about it, defending Jhope

2015 :

  • Sajaegi accusation (as BTS got their 1st win in music shows and their sales are higher than some other artists)
  • VIPs called Taehyung rude, as Taehyung sung a BigBang song on their own winning ceremony, until he apologized on Twitter.
  • BigHit went to court over this sajaegi accusation

2016 :

  • Plagiarism hashtag trended by 5 biggest fandoms inc VIPs, EXOL, and Shawols, in South Korea, trended #1 on the first day of their concert (which BTS saw by the way)
  • Plagiarism accusation by Shawol for the album HYYH : Young Forever
  • Suga addressed all these accusations on song 2!3!
  • Antis joked over Taehyung’s dead grandmother on 2016
  • EXOLs trended a hashtag, over BTS’ 1st daesang, called Melon to cancel the daesang

2017 :

  • EXOLs trended a malicious hashtag on BTS’ 4th muster for days
  • EXOLs did a petition on official blue house site (which was addressed by the news and by the government themselves as something ‘childish’)

2018 :

  • Exols and Blinks sided with Nazis over the 2018 November shirt issue

Now tell me logically, if groups of people consistently tell you for years they hate you and because of that they verbally abuse your group, where no amount of kindness will change that, what kind of outcome are you expecting? At least Armys aren’t trying to actually contact government offices, sign petition, trend hate hashtags, and create rumors that ACTUALLY get idol groups sent to court, like what kpop fans (exols, vips) did to BTS.

Why didn’t exo or Big Bang ever address that? Especially when some of those rumors (no signal plagiarism rumor) were spurned on by the staff and family members of Big Bang? How could they let their disgusting fans attack small company idols like that?

BTS are aware Armys receive hate online. You just have to watch their content to know. They’ve even addressed it in their behind the scenes footage and on fancafe that they “know it’s hard to be a BTS fan.” Kpop fans seem to forget BTS actually saw those plagiarism hashtags that were trended against them. They referenced it directly in their concert VCR. BTS are very well aware of what goes on on social media, and are very aware that most of the online hate comments towards them come from kpop fans so why would they call out Armys when Armys collective offense is dragging groups based off their numbers or calling their music cringe.

Kpop stans will believe literally any rumor said about Armys without proof and the amount of times I’ve asked for reciepts and never received any is too many times to count. It’s because kpop stans play a game of “telephone.”

I’m not going to act like Armys are saints. I know Armys drag groups and generally hate kpop fandoms, but there isn’t one fandom that hasn’t attacked Armys that Armys attack back at.  Fanwars exist and they’ll never stop, and I’ve learned to tune them out unless they become serious like, blinks and exols hyping nazi’s for trashing BTS with dangerous rhetoric, or making fun of Tae’s grandmother who past away, or doxxing an Army and threatening her, or degrading Jimin by misgendering him as a joke, things like that.

Kpop fandoms are absolutely nasty to each other, but the only commonality is that most of you hate Armys even when you still hate each other. To act as if Armys are the sole guilty party for all fanwars is dumb. Armys is literally the most active fandom online engagement. Anyhow, Armys get, even compared to western fandoms. We simply draw a lot of attention and are praised by politicians, radio DJs, celebrities, locals and even many journalists consistently for how polite and kind we are. The reality is only xenophobes and kpop stans have an issues with Armys. Hate us if you want, call us toxic if you want. Never affected us anyways.

Honestly, I dont see how much more toxic the Army are in relation to many other fandom. Fandom wars are documented since the beginning of idols. From HK Alan Tam/ Jacky Cheung, H.O.T/Sechskies, Tiffany/Debbie Gibson etc....

Fandoms in sports, Political alias e.g(Donald Trump/Anti Donald Trump), we are surrounded or even part of it. It is a culture. Why make such a big deal about it??

I dont see how much more toxic BTS fans are in comparison to others idols.
