**TRIGGER - Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, Torture** Asian Junkie: MBC reports Burning Sun & others involved in rape, torture, underage sex trafficking

OP Note:

Previous posts on this topic were heavy on netizen interpretations and reactions which left many with an incomplete picture of the MBC Straight episode's finer details. Asian Junkie's write up of the story includes greater translation depth and contextual explanation.

Article begins now:
----------------------------------

While the Burning Sun scandal has revealed a whole horror show of offenses to this point, according to a report by MBC‘s ‘Straight‘, things were even worse than that.

According to MBC’s exploratory program, Straight, Arena and Burning Sun set up a officetels that were furnished like a lounge bar nearby for VVIPs where they committed crimes such as drugs, sadistic sexual violence and illegal filming.

Details that follow can obviously be triggering.

The report says that the clubs had an incineration team, whose purpose was essentially to cover-up evidence of the horrific activities that went on.

It was also reported that the clubs used a team of incinerators, who would clean up the mess in these spaces. According to analyzed text messages, the main task of these “incinerators” was removing blood stains. They apparently even carried around reagents in the trunks of club-owned cars and were professionally trained to erase bloodstains that were evidence of the VVIPs’ crime.

The program revealed some of the text messages that were sent to the “incinerators” at these clubs and there were messages like:
“‘000 officetel’ – need to incinerate and discard into the previously mentioned area.”
“The text message that the incinerator received is coded like a password” a staff member revealed. “In other words, they will need to incinerate the drugs at the officetel and the toilet paper and bloody clothes will need to be removed.”

The show did acquire evidence in the form of texts and also have witnesses.

But it was what they were doing that was reportedly most shocking.

According to the report, the most important task for the incinerator team was to clear the bloodstains. An official from the incinerator team revealed in an interview to the production team and said, “I’ll remove the blood by using a special spray that we were taught to use. It’s a similar technique used by the Scientific Investigation Team crime labs in police departments.
He continued, “There was a time I went to clean up at 6:00am but the party wasn’t over. When I got there the men all seemed out of it and I wasn’t sure if I should come in. When I went in I saw a woman that looked like she was in a coma. Her face was twitching and she was bleeding. One guy, who appeared to be a doctor, was filming the scene and he said, “she’s bleeding out, it must’ve been really good.”
“To join the incinerator team, the club makes sure they are able to keep secrets and will be kept on a trial test for a while, the official said. “All incinerators only use cell phones and vehicles provided by the club and are expected to keep their movements secret.”

They also reported on underage sex trafficking.

Moreover, Straight reported that underage sex trafficking was common with most of the girls being runaways. Pastor Joo Won Kyu, who is said to have been employed at the club in disguise, explained that two girls who managed to escape from the clubs were emotionally and physically traumatized.
2 of the runaway girls were able to escape. One is suffering from trauma that soldiers who participated in wars suffer from and is receiving treatment from a psychiatric hospital. The other girl had too many abortions and her uterus was exposed, so she was abandoned after they said she was no longer of use.

The pastor added that all of this was kept secret despite the severity of the crimes that were committed and the police who reported to the scene after receiving reports did not even enter the club to investigate.

Powerful people are allegedly being attached to this as playing a role in covering it up.

Despite the enormous body of criminal activity, it seems it never stopped, and the police, who were called in after reports, did not even enter the club for investigation. ‘Straight’ raised doubts about the lobbying of the club, which extends to the National Tax Service as well as the police, and the elite ruling class who protect them.

The MD’s son Lee Si-hyung, Kim Moosung’s son-in-law was the only name released. He’s also currently under investigation for drug use. As soon as Burning Sun’s scandal broke, he was seized by the police [allegedly because powerful officials wanted to shut him up].

Joo Won Kyu had told his story before.

Yeah, I don’t quite know how to react to this. It’s almost like so movie/television villain-esque that I don’t want to believe it could be true. But then with everything that’s gone down so far, it would seem foolish to not take it seriously.

Basically the report is alleging that patrons of clubs like Burning Sun and Arena are drugged, taken to an off-site location, sexually assaulted and tortured, and they get away with it because it’s covered up by people in power. There’s suspicions that it involves actual snuff films being made, and now child sex trafficking has been brought back into the spotlight with further details.

The scope of this is significant enough now where it starts to become a bit concerning in terms of the people covering it. Obviously skepticism is always warranted, but if it goes as high up as they say then it’s hard to know exactly what is just a cover up and what is reality. If they have evidence, then hopefully it’ll have to go through legal channels, or at least I hope.

Today I learned what a snuf* film is through this news and I'd rather I didn't tbh but to think that this was allowed to happen by the very people who are supposed to protect us.... more than anger I feel deeply devastated for all the victims. If the government doesn't step in in full force and demand a proper investigation and sentencing, Korea's image will suffer globally. We all know about the problem with corruption, but this is on a whole other level.

DTRT you keep everyone here up to date with the real issues. Well done and I hope you take care of yourself as well, it must take a toll on your mental health to cover such cruelty.

So Burning Sun was a metaphor for the club being literal hell on earth.
