A total of 2,500 dance groups from 64 nations participated in '2017 K-Pop Dance Cover Festival', which took place at Seoul World Cup Stadium prior to the start of 'Dream Concert' on June 3! Amazingly, it has been watched by over 600k people through Twitter live.
This year, Lee Kyung Hyung (Chief Editor of Seoul News), Ahn Joon Ho (Director of Seoul Metropolitan City Tourism), Oh Sung Kwon (CEO of B.O.B.O Entertainment), Hwang Dong Seop (CEO of The Groove Entertainment), and Red Velvet's Seulgi and Wendy joined as the judges.
The performances by the four finalist groups - Y.O.U, X.East, The First Bite, and Over Fate - were broadcasted live on Twitter to more than 255,000 people worldwide.
First to perform was the septet Y.O.U from the Philippines. The girls performed a mixed version of IOI's ''Very Very Very'' and ''Whatta Man''. Second up was the Korean male septet Over Fest, who put on a powerful performance of BTS' ''Blood, Sweat & Tears''. The Russian septet X.East also covered a track by BTS and showed off their dance skills to ''Not Today''. Last to go on the final stage was the co-ed quintet The First Bite from the United States. The group perfected the sexy choreography of Brave Girls' ''Rollin''.
Out of the four final groups, X.East was the one to take the victory at this year's festival. Second place went to Y.O.U while The First Bite took third.
At the end, judge Seulgi shared a comment, and said, "They were probably very nervous but I was surprised that they showed professionalism not only with their dance moves but also with their facial expressions."
