It appears music programs Mnet's 'M! Countdown' and MBC's 'Show! Music Core' will not be airing this week.

According to an entertainment official, both programs have decided to cancel the broadcasts this week. Mnet will be airing 'K Concert' in place of 'M! Countdown' while 'Show! Music Core' will be replaced by live baseball being aired for Korean Baseball Organization's opening day.

Meanwhile, it will be a sad week for idol fans as some of their favorite artists were scheduled to hold their comeback stages this week.

Understandable but come on, right when Girl's Day are having their comeback stages this week! Hopefully we can get Girl's Day a win on their comeback stage on M!Countdown next week. :)

apparently Mnet will air KCON Mexico instead this week.  I watched the live stream of that and was so shook by Jooheon and I M 's stage

I don't know if this is an original composition or a released track - but I want it.

OK, let's all just know that it's unfortunately true that both "M! Countdown" and "Show! Music Core" will be pre-empted this week because Mnet is airing a "K-Concert" special while MBC will be airing live baseball games during the KBO's opening day.  I know that it sucks but we should just be understanding of this and wait until next weekend to see our favorite artists make their comebacks on those shows.  And by the way, at least we will STILL look forward to "Music Bank" and "Inkigayo" this week.

Also, Show Champion tomorrow, MTV The Show was today, and there's also Simply Kpop, though the idols making comebacks might not be on Simply Kpop yet. Fans have a LOT more opportunity to see their idols perform on music shows now since there are more than just the "core four"(M! Countdown, Music Bank, Music Core, and Inkigayo). So, yeah. We should all just be happy we get to see them perform at all.

I'm just talking about "Music Bank" and "Inkigayo" here. And also, of course I know that it sucks to hear that at least "M! Countdown" and "Show! Music Core" won't be airing live this week BUT I know that we can wait at least one more week to see our favorite K-Pop idols perform live on those shows.

I don't know why you're responding as if I was saying anything opposed to you? I was agreeing with you AND pointing out that fans have more opportunities to see their idols perform. Nowhere in my comment did I complain about M! Countdown and Music Core not airing.

The concert I can understand, but Asians and their obsession with baseball always gets in the way of our kpop liiiiiiife. Salty.

C'mon now, I know that it sucks to hear that we won't be seeing live broadcasts of these two shows this week BUT we gotta be understanding of it and wait until next week to see our favorite K-Pop idols perform live on those shows.

    Any particular reason?

I will *guess* that the NETWORKS involved think that the ALTERNATE programming will draw *more* VIEWERS. As pointed out in other messages here, there are a LOT of these K-pop Promotional 'Weekly Award' TV Shows to be able to view them. Maybe RATINGS (VIEWERS) are starting to SAG on some of them.

That makes no sense, they never bump these shows without a very good reason. A one week cancellation to improve ratings, huh?

I am *suggesting* that the K-TV Networks (Channels) *might* be *considering* that MAYBE they do NOT need a *WEEKLY* K-pop Music 'Awards Show' as they presently do it. Putting it another way ; at this point in time ; is there much 'suspense' to finding out that SNSD Group mostly ALWAYS WINS the 'Weekly Award' when they compete ???

But most people watch for the live performances and celebrity hosts. Didn't two of the weekly shows remove the winner feature altogether recently? They're still popular without it.

I am of the opinion that perhaps there is a 'saturation point' being reached with K-pop Music. At least in terms of the S.KOREA TV VIEWER audience.

I think we would have heard far more about it if that were the case, definitely there would have been word before suddenly people just started cancelling shows.
