ZE:A's contacts with Star Empire Entertainment have come to an end after 7 years.

On January 6, the agency stated, "After the past 7 years, our exclusive contracts with ZE:A will end on January 6, 2017. ZE:A are currently busy working through projects and fixed spots on variety shows. Members Taeheon and Minwoo are carrying out their army duty. Though our contracts with them have ended, they'll be under Star Empire Entertainment's care in terms of management, public relations, and marketing until their current schedules conclude."

Star Empire added they would be trying their best to coordinate the ZE:A members' individual careers for the future. However, it's still unclear whether they'll be re-signing with the label.

Previously, there were reports Siwan would not be renewing. Stay tuned for updates.

hyungsik is sooo fine in hwarang..i love that show!

people are being stupid about saying they should leave and go to another agency. it doesn't work that way. ZE:A isn't a group that can leave one company and go to, or create another. if they leave, it's the end of the group. theoretically, they could all sign with one company, but that won't happen because ONE, some members may be happier under Star Empire than others and TWO, ZE:A hasn't been a wildly successful group, so another company really wouldn't be interested in pouring their money into remaking them. I think the criticism for Star Empire is really uncalled for. The questionable morals of CEO and staff aside, people call them a bad company because they didn't promote ZE;A enough, but that's not necessarily true. They could only put as much into the group as the group makes. ZE:A didn't bring in tons of cash. I'm sure they borrowed money to make comebacks in a rush trying to capitalize on the popularity of members like Hyungsik and Kwanghee (not mentioning Siwan because there was no comeback around the time of his popularity surge). The get the same complaints from fans on Nine Muses, but it's so obvious they they kept pouring money into them trying to make it happen for them.

I wouldn't think that they are a bad company because they didn't promote ZE:A well, but just because of everything that has been said about the people behind it. Though for Siwan, wasn't Aftermath & Pheonix around his popularity surge? Or was that surge earlier in the year? I don't remember well. I think however, that ZE:A maybe able to be under another company though the fact that I suspect quite a few companies would want the big 4, so if they say the requirment is signing all of the members then legit a desprite enough company may do it? I don't know

RGreene siwanniee Sunday, January 8, 2017

i would say SIwan's biggest surge in popularity was much later. Like after The Attorney and Misaeng. I certainly think that the big 4 members COULD force an agency to take the entire group....but i doubt that they would

siwanniee RGreene Tuesday, January 10, 2017

True, that does make sense, I feel as if they would though, as the group has tight bonds of friendship, therefore I just don't think they'd be willing to let go so easily?

I think watching the YT documentary, "Nine Muses of Star Empire - Documentary", (eng sub) i think the CEO is really treating them well, more like treating them like performing dogs/cats. yelling at them, after their debut stage, criticizing them and slapping the then-leader Stella.

kpopforever89 Friday, January 6, 2017

i hope none of them renew. Star empire has done nothing with them and the boys deserve so much better.

purplematoki Friday, January 6, 2017

i really like ze;a music but i would understand if they broke off to be better elsewhere cause star empire was making them rot

InvisibleBBC02 Friday, January 6, 2017

This is kinda sad to say, as I love ZE:A, but they need to leave. SE is a horrible place to be.

InvisibleBBC02 Friday, January 6, 2017

I have a feeling that SE is going to try and hold onto Kwanghee as much as possible. Once he leaves, their main moneymaker is gone. Hyungshik and Siwan will probably leave and become actors and the rest of them I doubt will stay.

Winston InvisibleBBC02 Friday, January 6, 2017

Firstly Kwanghee is going to Army in 2017, why would Star Empire want to renew someone going to army, if they want to renew they will probably speak to him after he comes out. and also even if Kwanghee go on 10 variety shows, he will not make as much as Siwan or Hyungsik does in drama. so i doubt Kwanghee is the "main money maker" in SE.

InvisibleBBC02 Winston Friday, January 6, 2017

I wasn't counting Siwan and Hyungsik since I'm pretty sure they'll be leaving, but yeah, they are the main moneymakers.

Winston InvisibleBBC02 Saturday, January 7, 2017

The 2 actors are probably better off in a actor agency, be it KeyEast or Blossom or King Kong (which Kwangsoo is under) which is also merging under Starship.

siwanniee Friday, January 6, 2017

I'm just going to list what type of agency I think the boys should go to. To be honest, I hope they all sign under one company but if they aren't going to do that, then these would be best for them tbhKevin: He needs a company that will promote him solo well as his voice is great therefore a solo release other than the debut he released while in SE is a good ideaKwanghee: Any agency that really is willing to scout out shows and opportunities for things like guesting that really suit him well (like talk shows and most variety shows lol)Siwan: An acting agency does sound good- however, I don't know if everyone here knows, but despite not being a main vocal, Siwan's voice is really great, therefore a company that deals with solo singers and also actors would be the best. I think he should have a solo debut, and continue with acting.Junyoung: A company that can let him continue with his djing, solo releases and concerts, along with promoting him wellHeecheol: Are there companies for solo rappers?? If so, that'd be good for him, but it's not like he needs it to only be rapping cause his solo debut was him singing, and it sounded good, so I think he could release a solo song with both singing and rapping, so a company who could promote him well if he did release something like that would be best. Also a company that can let him guest on like legit any gaming show out there bc he's such a gamer lol lolTaeheon: A company for solo rappers if that's a thing, and also a company that would be ok with his fighting matches too just incase he wants to continue that lolMinwoo: I think if Minwoo wanted, he could redebut in a group- everyone could, but I don't feel as if they would want to. Minwoo just feels like he'd be a great asset in a group, a great dancer who is great in singing and rapping? I don't know, but I think a solo debut is more likely. So a company that values being multitalented and dancing, so that if he solo debuted he could not be like the twenty billion solo artists and have like a full out dance song if he wanted lolHyungsik: A company that'd get good deals for his acting career, and one that will also give him a high quality solo debut as he is a main vocal for a reason lolDongjun: Basically the same as Hyungsik

thefabcat92 siwanniee Friday, January 6, 2017

arirang7879 siwanniee Monday, February 6, 2017

Oh what did you talking about? ZEA as group not exist since 2-3 years. There are max 5 former ZEA members who can exist in this area.

siwanniee arirang7879 Wednesday, February 8, 2017

what do you mean by that?
