Shindong appeared on a recent broadcast of 'Kim Shin Young's Noon Song of Hope' and talked about how his physique changed after serving in the military!

Kim Shin Young brought up the fact that he dyed his hair, and Shindong said, "I wanted to so badly.  I wanted to stand out.  I wondered what I should do.  Should I grow facial hair? I couldn't grow my hair long, dye my hair, grow facial hair, or wear an earring while I was in 'Bbobbobbo.'  I did 'Bbobbobbo' for four and a half years then grew facial hair.  People wondered why I grew facial hair, but I just wanted to."

Kim Shin Young then said, "Chubby people lose weight after coming back from the military..." and Shindong said, "No one might know this.  When I went into the military, I did not do an interview.  I wanted to go in quietly.  Because I had gained a lot of weight.  I lost a lot now. I had weighed 11 kg (~ 24 lbs) more before.  Since going to the training center, the weight shed fast.  I didn't do SNS so there's no picture during.  While I was becoming a petty officer, I gradually gained weight [back]."

he "gradually gained weight back"..... i said in the article about his discharge that it was weird that he was still chubby/fat and people got angry. But now he confirms it himself

I would love for him to lose weight only for health purposes. He already became famous for his charms and being literally the only fat idol so losing weight for vanity is not gonna be a factor for his fame.

He looks like a middle-aged father now rather than an idol. Not trying to be mean, but he honestly does.

Lol i mean Shindong said himself he flucuates often. And he doesnt even eneed to promote for Super Junior so he doesnt feel he has to 100% go hard an loose weight. He always does well before Super Junior comebacks with loosing weight. Since he does more comedy he doesnt really need to feel pressured to lose weight for comedy skits, I mean most comedians are skinny, look at Kang Ho Dong or Hyeong Dong etc.
