I can tell most of you commenters are young and completely unfamiliar with the worlds of business and retail fashion. Reality check: her location, if it's the retail location at the ground floor level, costs her $277,000 in rent a MONTH! That doesn't include business registration, legal, accounting, taxes (and NY is the most expensive in the U.S.), insurance, inventory, electric, furnishings, any upgrades/construction they needed, or paying staff. She has to sell nearly 1400 pieces at an average of $200 profit APIECE just to pay rent and ONLY rent--not a single other thing I've mentioned. Clothing buyers are notoriously fickle and fashion empires are made and lost from season to season, even with established brands. Most of her fans can't afford her stuff and the women who can are older and don't know who she is. She has spread herself VERY thin by launching accessories, clothing, fragrance, make-up, skin care, etc. ranges in less than two years--most established brands would roll out additional product expansions over a period of a decade or longer. She and her boyfriend both seem to be investing all their money on the success of this and keeping her singing career going to allow more cash flow for the clothing business. Successful luxury brands generally start out with investments of between $20-30M, so I can only imagine how much they have sunk into this so far (rumours are more than $40M though who knows if they are true.) And that's not even getting into the fact that she has her personal and professional business comingled with her boyfriend, whom she'd only been dating a couple year, and that she may feel she can't leave, even if she no longer wants to be together, since he steers her entire career at this point, is an investor in her clothing line and CEO/Chairman of her label.Store openings with champagne do not mean a business is doing well; it's their job to sell the illusion of success.

Her clothing and accessories are so expensive but then again I'm not her target market so.. they're very nice though I hope she reaches the success point she's seeking.

Yeah, being so expensive is kinda the point for her her company being a high-end designer label. Her stuff is actually cheaper than others of the same ilk. A lot of the price is because of limited stock and exclusivity...and of course, Jessica's own image.

(Joking) Well, in the future, JESSICA might 'down scale' some and have her OWN FASHION LINE in the 'ASIAN' TARGET Store (USA) ... ;-)

NOT saying that JESSICA is doing anything 'bad' with her $200 USD Sunglasses business. It would appear that with over 60 'brick and mortar' stores (mostly in ASIA), JESSICA (BLANC & ECLARE) is doing pretty well.

Wait...Jessica doesn't have 60 brick and mortar stores, though. Those are just stores that house her brand. This NY store is her first brick and mortar.

Well, Jessica did once say she thought about doing an affordable line when her label became stable. So you never know.

Oh, THANKS to correct me. So, the 60 'physical presence' OUTLETS are like say KIOSKS in some large RETAIL DEPARTMENT STORE? Something like that?

In my defense, I was using another K-pop News source that said (direct quote) --> "It has only been two years since the launch of BLANC & ECLARE. Currently it has 63 stores across Asia, Europe, and North America. This exponential growth rate shows just how much Jessica’s brand is receiving international recognition." ... Which, I *wrongly* assumed that meant that these 63 were 'brick and mortar' just like the new NYC store; MY ERROR.

I don't know if they're "retail department stores" as they all seem to only house other high-end brands besides Jessica's. But, yeah, they are all basically kiosks/placements in a physical store that isn't hers.

Okay, THANKS again to make more CLEAR what is 'going on' with BLANC & ECLARE (JESSICA).

Yeah, I don't know why they call them "stores", either... >.<

@alexdhamp <-- THANKS to not 'jump down my throat' as some deliberate 'spreader of misinformation.' I really APPRECIATE how you did handle this ... :-) ... I am in the process of *correcting* myself on a couple other AKP THREADS now ... :-)

No problem. I seen no reason to "jump down your throat" for a mere instance of mistaken information. No one's perfect, ya know?
